"The gentlemen were very polite and respectful. They came out the same day for an emergency (a severely clogged drain), which was very much appreciated. However, the problem was not solved, despite assurances that it was. A second company came out and found a piece of an old plumbing snake that had somehow been stuck in the pipe, which was causing the clog. The second company believed that the piece should have been able to be detected (and removed) by Sewer & Drain Specialists during the first check, as it was very large. I am not a plumber, so I can only go by what they tell me. I hate leaving anything but glowing reviews, but it is also important to note when things don't go quite so well, to hopefully avoid the same problem in the future, as it did end up costing double what it should have to fix the problem and almost a week of extra time without working toilets/showers/etc."

"Slow draining tub, a toilet that just won't flush, and some back flow when using the dishwasher left us thinking we just had a major clog. To our surprise, it was a collapsed sewer line that needed to be replaced. While there was a 1 week wait due to the time of year and the demands they were expecting, we were more than happy to wait the week. Work went quickly and smoothly, and was far less intrusive than we anticipated. Their staff even wore shoe coverings when coming into the house! Only some minor clean up work was required once they left, which appeared to be an oversight when they cleaned up. Everything else was back to normal after they left and no problems since."

"The pipes in my house would rattle everytime I ran water. Every sink and the two toilets would cause a rattle from somewhere deep in the house. Mr. Machen and an assistant came out within two days of me calling and had figured out what the problem was and had it fixed within a half an hour. The city had been working outside on the water lines in the street and I pretty much started having problems around the same time, but I didn't think they were related. Once I told him about this, he made some adjustments and the rattling stopped! I was very pleased.

"We were pleased with some things and disappointed by others. We were very happy with the designer who helped us gain a LOT more storage in our rather small master bath. However, we were disappointed that we had to have them return several times to fix problems. They left out a shelf, installed the shower head incorrectly, forgot to install the grab bar, and forgot to caulk around parts of the shower. The worst problem that we've had, and that we're still dealing with, is the grout in the tile floor. It keeps crumbling. We've had their tile person out at least three times to fix it, and we need to have them out a fourth time. Even with grout sealant, the grout keeps crumbling. It feels like there is a problem with the tile around the toilet being incorrectly placed, and it's affecting the surrounding tile. It was probably installed improperly and needs to be reset, but all the guy keeps doing is chipping out the old grout and filling it back in. See http://floorelf.com/why-is-my-floorgrout-cracking for what I'm talking about.
Overall, I'd give Remodel USA a C. They do some things really well, but the grout problem is really getting on my nerves. When we redo one of our other bathrooms, we'll go with a different company.
