"Owner showed up the same day I called to give an estimate. The full team showed up 24 hours later and performed the job. They left the place cleaner than it was when they arrived. Fast, safe, professional, excellent service. They actually do what they say they will do. This is the second time we have hired their services. I will hire them again and highly recommend C&A services."

I am a young business owner and brand new father! I have worked all over the construction industry from a young age and became a licensed plumber before I finished highschool. The name “One man” Freelancing was inspired by my service in the WV national guard where I still currently serve as the “one man” a term given to the cannon crewmember who loads and fires the artillery cannons. I have a broad range of knowledge and problem solving skills, if I don’t know how to do the job I will surely be able to learn and you will not be disappointed with results!

"Rick and his crew arrived as expected. They first took down the large pine tree and turned it into mulch. I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to do this. The next thing they tackled was the enormous shrubs that lined our backyard. Again, they took them out and mulched them up. Finally, Rick scaled each of the three large trees in the backyard cleaning off the vines and cutting off unnecessary or dead branches. Before they left, they raked and cleaned up the yard. I look forward to them coming back in the fall to prune and shape my apple tree."

"Moss Tree Service was prompt, fast and mulched up all the branches. They even used a leaf blower and cleaned up all the shavings. I will use them in the future and always recommend them for tree services!"

"This is the second time I have used them. They removed four trees and even more. I am a ham radio operator and one tree was supporting an antenna I lost that tree and an antenna hookup. They were able to relocate that antenna so that I could still use it. This is a hard working team of good guys. After the removal and relocating of my antenna they cleaned up the property thoroughly! They didn't leave any tree trash around. I recommend them and if needed again they are my guys!"

"This is the second time we have hired this tree service and we will probably need them again. This time was for my dad who enjoyed talking with the owner, Don and was very satisfied with the job they had done. He and his crew were on time, very polite and got the job done. We highly recommend this tree service."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out. You can have stumps professionally removed, or request a service to grind them down to ground level so they can be replaced with other landscaping or objects.

Unless it’s dead or dangerous, think twice about cutting down a tree in your yard. They’re good for health, well-being, wildlife, and the environment. Plus, local authorities often have regulations prohibiting the removal of trees, especially protected species or individual trees with historical value.

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. If the tree has been cut down and the stump and roots are left, grinding and removing the stump can cause root decay for some species. For other species, the stump and roots will need to be removed to prevent pests, disease, and possible tree regrowth.

Dutch elm disease can’t harm humans. In fact, according to Cal Fire, bark beetles aren’t even typically dangerous to trees unless that tree is already weakened. The problem comes when Dutch elm disease kills a tree. That tree is more at risk of falling and catching fire, which can pose a serious threat.

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.
