The crew did an excellent job of cleaning up -- there was never any litter or trash abound our house. The crew was polite and professional. One small area of damage occurred when a worker slipped and cracked the ceiling on one of our bedrooms. Unfortunately we did not notice this until after the job was completed, as it was in a guest room. When I called about it, there was no questions or issues -Central Roofing had a drywaller come to repair and then paint the area that had been damaged. The sprayed acoustic ceiling was done extremely well. I have 5 skylights and new stone around the fireplace and not one speck of paint got on any of it. There taping off for this job was extremely well done. He also repaired a few ceiling cracks and they are no longer visible. His assistant, although I was told had been painting for 5 yrs with him, seemed not to know "how" to paint. Hitting the floor and ceiling with the roller on many occasions, thus pulling down acoustic ceiling particles and pulling up dirt from the floor. ( carpet had been removed and the tile was being replaced so getting paint on them was no big deal but by hitting the floor dirt was then transferred to the walls) The assistant had to go back on a lot of the walls and repaint because the last color could be seen through even with 2 coats on already. There are also roller marks on the walls the assistant did although they can not be seen unless you are looking at the wall from the side. The edging they did from wall to acoustic ceiling looks very nice ..(this was not an easy job for them) Although I had to go back and paint the top edging of most of the other walls where it meets the ceiling as you could still see the old color coming through. This problem came down about 1 to 1.5 inches from the ceiling. This however was not noticed until after all painting was done and completely dry and we had a sunshine day to see it. I had to repaint many corners where the paint was not thick enough to cover the old color and around most door frames. This was visible almost immediately but by this time I just wanted my house back so I did it. Because of the price, their punctuality and friendliness I would get them again. I would however look over the work a bit better then I did the first time and catch the problems listed above before they left. Patrykus, was her advisor on the project and was involved during all phases of the project. The following is written by Jody Patrykus, the homeowner where the work was performed: I contacted Russ Napiwocki of Napiwocki Builders for a quote in approximately September of 2012. On December 10, 2012 we finalized the cabinet layout and door choices. He was to order the cabinets that day. He told me they would take 2-4 weeks. He said he would be over on Monday December 17th at 8:00am to start tearing out the original kitchen. On the 17th, I called home at about 10:00am talk to my son, who was laid off for the winter, to ask him how things were going. He said Russ Napowocki was not there. I called Russ, and asked him why he wasn't at my house. He said that thte cabinets were going to take 5 weeks, as his cabinet maker had 2 weeks off for the holidays. I asked him why he didn't relay this information to me, and he replied that he was sorry, he forgot. He said he didn't want to tear out my kitchen any sooner than needed to save me the inconvenience. I told him I was already inconvenienced, as I emptied my whole kitchen in preparation for his being there on the 17th as agreed. I wish I would have fired him right there. He finally showed up on 12/19, telling my son "I don't know why your Mom wants me to rip her kitchen apart already, but if that's what she wants, I'll do it" During the selection of my cabinets, he told me that with the measurements that he would give to his "cabinet-maker" my cabinets would fit perfectly. He mentioned that my sink would be very slightly off center to the window above it, but you would not even be able to notice. My sink is 6" off center to the left of the window above it. Never did I once see a sample of the cabinets, and the catalog he used was a Menards cabinet catalog, telling me "They look just like these" During the course of the next 7 weeks, Russ spent approximately 15 hours a week on the job. He also drives bus, and plows snow in the winter. He told me these were his side jobs, but I found that my kitchen was remodeled around his bus schedule. The week before Christmas, he told me that the week of Christmas he could work all week, that he didn't have anything else going. That week he was at my house for a total of 4 hours. I had to back up my appliance delivery twice due how long he was taking. With a date of January 24th for the cabinet delivery, I scheduled the appliance delivery for January 29th. The cabinets were delivered to my house on January 24th. He told me he would insall the cabinets on the 24th and 25th, or the 25th and 26th, but if he had to work all weekend to install them he would. He said at the very latest he would install them on the 28th and the 29th. I reminded him that my appliances were being delivered on the 29th, and I could not push this date back any more, as the delivery company could only hold my appliances for 30 days, and would have to return my appliances to the manufacturer. He said he would be there Monday the 28th at 8:00am for sure to install the cabinets. On the morning of the 28th, I recieved a text from Russ stating that he would be at my house at 9:45am, as he had to plow show. At 9:45am I received another text stating that he would not be able to make it all on the 28th as he had to plow snow all day. I called him on the phone and told him that he had to install my cabinets. He said that it would be okay, the appliances could be delivered on the 29th and he would just work around them. I said absolutely not, I was not going to have him installing cabinets around my brand new appliances. He ended coming over that evening and working for about 4 hours and getting less than half of the cabinets installed. The next day he showed up with 3 other people, and it cost me $600.00in labor for the installation to be completed. In all, it took 7 1/2 weeks for my cabinets to be installed. During installation, he marred the cabinets in at least 3 different places. He applied the touch up paint in a very messy manner. When I brought it to his attention, he denied that he did this. After me pressuring him, he did confess that his father was responsible for one area, but acted like he had never seen the other damage and touch-up before. I then had some issues with paint on some of the cabinetry doors and door fronts bubbling. He brought the "cabinet-maker" over on February 27th, and they decided the parts would be replaced under warranty. His "cabinet-maker" also gave me his business card, where I discovered he is not a cabinet maker, but a designer and does the lay-outs on a computer. Alll along I was lead to believe i was getting custom cabinets. What I got was stock cabinets that were custom only in the fact that they were not built until I placed my order. They are all stock sizes, which is why my sink is not centered, and I have spacers in several locations. Near the end of March, I contacted Russ asking when I could expect the cabinet parts to be replaced. He said first week in April. He then asked me when I was going to finish paying him. I still owed him $1883.00. I told him that when my cabinets were finished, that I would have something for him. 2 days later I received a letter from his lawyer, informing me he was putting a lien on my property for the money owed. I've since had to hire a lawyer, and so far have accumulated $600.00 in lawyer fees. Here is some other information that you should know that I won't elaborate on as much. He mixed trim, old and new, the new trim is oak,the original pine, and the stain is not anywhere close. He didn't finish the trim, so the edges are rough and without stain. I can still see his pencil marks used for cutting. He used plenty of wood putty. The window sills on the 2 kitchen windows do not match each other, nor do they match any of the other window sills in my houise. The new drywall he hung for one of the walls is bowed, so my granite countertop backsplash cannot lay flat, but leaves a large gap between the wall and backsplash. I requested the soffit above the corner cabinet match the 45 degree angle of the corner cabinet. It does not, it is at a 90 degree angle. He used OSB for the shelves in my appliance pantry instead of shelving material. The top shelf is spliced as the piece he used was not long enough. The shelf can hold no more that 5 lbs weight, and is already bending "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/wi/stevens-point/napiwocki-builders-inc-reviews-5760993.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Ron's Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"WI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Ron H."},"reviewBody":"There have been no problems with the central air units. He immediately came to complete an estimate for me. He looked at the disaster of my kitchen, listened when I told him what had happened so far and took charge. Cory was able to explain what needed to be done step by step. Cory was working on another remodel at the time, but was willing to work weekends in order for me to have a functioning kitchen before Christmas and I did. Cory worked the weekend before Christmas and as promised before he left I had a sink, a stove and the refrigerator out of my living room. We were able to prepare Christmas dinner for our children. After the holidays were over Cory completed the entire kitchen. It is beautiful. He listened to what I wanted and worked with me to make what I wanted work. He respected my opinions and offered his professional opinion when I was not sure what route to go. Cory is my contractor and will be the first call I make for any future work I need completed. Chet's was very responsive on meeting us at the house and providing us with a comprehensive bid, which was needed for the realty negotiation. We closed on 12/3/2012 and Chet's had a full crew at the new house all day on 12/4/12 and 12/5/12. They were very professional, laying down drop cloths wherever they walked, cleaning up any additonal debris and asking questions as worked progressed. The removal of the old furnace also required removal of a wood stove that was still working alongside the furnace system (which could not be "hooked up" to the new system due to ventilation issues). The workers did an excellent job removing it and cleaning up. The laundry relocation job was also somewhat challenging and took a day to complete. The house is a quad-level, further complicating the job. The original laundry was also set up for an electric dryer while the new one was to be set up for a gas dryer. All the plumbing and venting was installed where we wanted it to fit our design. We were very happy with all the work that was performed. The addition of the "slop sink" came after being in the house about a month. Again, Chet's was very responsive to our call, had a worker out to the sight the next day to complete the job. FAQs for sink repair projects in Wisconsin Rapids, WI
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Since the labor involved varies, most plumbers will charge an hourly rate for drain cleaning.
Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
