He hand dug the windows which elminated the mess that machinery can make. After the windows were done, Ray went above the original scope of work and helped fix some blocks in the foundation. He was also able to remove and replace some of the original basment windows. We are now able to start on finishing our basement months earlier than if we went with another company. Ray does fast quality work at a competitive price. If you need egress windows installed I would contact Ray first."

"Our project was actually a crawlspace encapsulation. We have a lake cabin that was built in the 1960's. It had a dirt floor in the crawlspace with bare block masonry foundation walls. It also had old, damp batt insulation that was falling down from the joist spaces. American Waterworks came in, removed the old insulation (a nasty job!), laid down a 2 layer moisture barrier system and spray foamed the foundation walls and rim joist area. I can't believe what a difference this has made to our air quality, much warmer floors. We used to have to wipe down the windows every morning during the winter because of condensation. Not any more! I would highly recommend this company if you have the same needs!!"

"We had many issues with our computer - primarily with the CD/DVD drive and iTunes. Jim eliminated over 700 viruses from our computer, which was just the beginning. There continued to be problems within the systems of the computer. Luckily Jim charges by the job and not by the hour because he worked a LONG time to make it all work.  He kept in touch with me and addressed each issue as it arose until the job was done.  He was professional and courteous and hung in there until I was satisfied he had addressed everything. "Sales process was good, courteous and helpful. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Did have a small issue with one sensor which was easily solved with a call. Control panel is easy to use and well constructed. Phone app is the best part. Not a big fan of a 2 year contract and the monthly rate feels a little high, but definitely a decent system. I had emailed them a question pertaining installing on double hung windows and never received a reply, but other than that their phone support prior to that was good."

The Positive:
 The sales representative, Ken Jr., was astounding.  His knowledge of his field was excellent and I enjoyed talking with him.  He was also very thorough with his estimate and writing down in great detail what we wanted to have done.  I hope we get him as our sales representative when it is time to do our roof or our windows.
The work was done exactly as Ken Jr. had written on the estimate.  For the most part the work matches the current look of the shed and it has already filled the water barrel.  
The Negatives:
It was difficult to communicate with GF Company.  We had originally received a quote from Rick a year before the work was done and we contacted GF Company many times to speak with him about getting the work done, but none of our phone calls were returned.  Finally we asked for someone new and we got Ken Jr. sent to us.
After we paid our half-down deposit, we were told that we would get a call in about three weeks to find a date for the work to be done.  After about 5 weeks we tried contacting GF Company.  One phone call had us speaking with a lady on the phone who said that someone would call us back soon, but that never happened.
We never received a call to tell us when the work would be done as we wanted to have someone home to make sure things were done to our specifications.  Several days after our phone call was not returned, we received a text message from our neighbor telling us that someone was doing work on our property, but my wife and I were both at work and by time we got home the work was done.  Since Ken Jr. did such a great job with writing down what we wanted, we did not have any issues with what was done.
It appears that one of the items created on site for our downspout on the shed was likely spray painted on site.  The paint job has already faded, but we can find some paint to paint it again.
Overall, it sounds like we had a bad experience, but we did not.  The work that was done was done well and the sales representative we worked with was very knowledgeable.  We would use GF Company again and recommend them, but encourage folks to have patience with communication.

"Over the years we feel like we have gotten value from this service, however, there are constraints on that value.  They have replaced dishwashers and air conditioners etc. for us when ours have died.  They replace one for one - equal quality for equal quality.  We have been allowed to upgrade (by paying the difference) to better replacements and then they have covered those new replacements.  All in all, it has worked for us.  Here is why they don't get a better rating from us.
They obviously negotiate deals with repair/replacement providers which means you are not high priority for these providers which is reflected in their responsiveness to your needs.  This past few years, it appears like they are far more reluctant to replace equipment.  As an example we have two 18 year old air conditioners that break down at least twice a season.  For the past three seasons it seems as if they have practically rebuilt the things vs. just declaring them dead.  Each time there is a service call, we pay $75 so it has begun to add up.
Today, (Saturday) our hot water heater began delivering rusty water and when we checked it, we saw that it has apparently been leaking for awhile and so is likely close to bursting.  In my mind this is an emergency.  AHS (who heard the whole story0 called a company which called me right a way but the earliest they could get someone out was Tuesday.  This is the absolute maximum time window in our AHS agreement (48 hours - business days).  It didn't matter that between now and then we could have 60 gallons of water flood our house.  I called AHS and asked for another provider.  They first suggested that we shut the water to the house off (really?) but they did contact another, who did not bother to call back (they were open at the time of contact).
My husband and I went to Angie's List and called one of the A rated companies.  Long story short is they were here within an hour and we will have a new hot water heater today.
