"They were very good and showed up on time. Explained things to us. BUT the last part of the job was never completed, even with reminders. The toilet keeps flushing for no reason. They had the para to fix it but not the right size We still paid in full EVEN though our water Bill is almost double the usual Bill! Waste of water, annoying sound...The technician said he would come back to make it right. They are very busy but it has been about 3 weeks waiting on it. :"

"This was certainly one of the more challenging clogged drains. Lewis was fantastic. My 100+ year old house as usual threw all sorts of difficulties at him. He stuck with it and when he left I finally had a kitchen sink that drained again. He was friendly, explained everything that needed done and had a estimate before proceeding. Payment was accepted that day. Easiest, affordable and best plumbing experience I have ever had."

"Steve was SO helpful. My refrigerator sprung a leak on a Sunday night during this pandemic. Not only did he return my call, he suggested what the problem could be and how to rectify it. He stayed on the line the whole time and patiently talked me through the steps to finding and turning off the water source. Can't tell you what a relief it was. Says so much about his service. Would highly recommend him!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.

Yes, frozen pipes can cause a toilet to stop working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which can lead to two main problems. First, the supply line to the toilet tank may be frozen, which prevents the tank from refilling with water after you flush. Second, the drain pipe itself can freeze, blocking water from flushing away. As a temporary solution for a non-refilling tank, you can manually add water, but this is not a long-term fix. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try pouring warm water into the toilet bowl or tank and then flushing, as the warm water may help thaw the ice blockage. Ultimately, the best course of action is to unfreeze the affected pipes to restore your toilet to full functionality.

Common problems include leaks, clogs, and running water. Regular maintenance prevents most issues.

Recaulk your toilet at least every five years. If you feel like your toilet is getting wobbly before that, it still might be time for a new caulking. Never directly place new caulk over existing caulk because that doesn’t produce lasting results. Also, caulking over existing moldy caulk does not kill out the mold by suffocating it, so if you have mold, be sure to get rid of it before recaulking.

Yes, you’ll need to replace your toilet’s wax seal any time you move the toilet. This is because movement of the toilet will break the seal, rendering the remaining wax useless. Thankfully, replacing a wax seal is fairly easy, and the seal itself only costs $2 to $10 at most home improvement stores.

When replacing a wax seal you typically also have to replace the closet bolts that secure the toilet to the flange. These are usually about 2.5" - 3" long and have to be cut once the toilet is secure. Cutting them usually makes them too short to reuse.
