"I am satisfied with the work. He repaired the hole in my drywall, matched the texture and then painted the surface. He gave me a reasonable quote and he was very prompt. He went to sherman williams to get match my drywall paint and charged me quite reasonably. The completed work is very smooth and I am happy with the quality. I will definitely recommend them in the future. If you need to get work done in your drywall, please contact them."
We want to highly recommend Investment Painting Contractors, 2508 West High Street, Racine, WI 53404 (262-321-1372) as a quality company we have used in December, 2013 and August, 2014. So far they have done wallpaper removal, interior painting, plaster repair, and exterior painting on our home. In each instance the owner, Rebecca, and the foreman, Theron, as well as their crew, have done an excellent job. They are courteous, professional, highly skilled and dependable. They possess that rare quality of taking pride in their work. We would recommend them without hesitation, and we plan to hire them for future improvements in our home.
"We own an 86 year old house. Our living room ceiling, 30 X 15 feet, had for some time needed significant plaster repair. By the time we hired Mudslingers, the plaster was threatening to separate in large chunks from the wood lathe and fall to the wood floors and onto the piano. Chris and his workers protected the floors with backer board, taped closed all doorways with plastic and proceeded to remove all of the plaster. This was a somewhat complicated job in that we asked that the ceiling coves surrounding the entire room be preserved and that the final applied texture matches the dining room ceiling. Chris was able to leave the coves unharmed and installed drywall over the remaining lathe and up to the cove. He blended the new drywall with the coves. A plaster texture was applied to match the adjacent dining room. Unfortunately when the plastering was finished it did not match the dining room. And here is why we feel compelled to write this review. We informed Chris that the texturing would have to be completely redone so that it matched the dining room exactly. Chris was disappointed but got to work. He said, ?I just want you to be happy with my work?. He and his crew sanded off all of the previously done work. Chris used a completely different technique and was able to match the texture of the dining room ceiling! In addition, Chris repaired two wall cracks and repainted the entire living room without additional charge. The backer board and plastic protectors were removed and the crew washed the entire room down: floors, baseboards, and window trim. Our living room was left in pristine condition. We interviewed 3 other contractors prior to Mudslinger's who said our job was too large and complicated and turned us down. Mudslinger?s provided a professionally prepared contract and worked from September 21st-October 13th,2015.
Businesses are people. The true measure of a business can be found in how a less than acceptable result is managed by that business. We are completely satisfied with Mudslinger?s work and more importantly how they met our expectations. It is because of the quality of his work and the fact that Mudslingers honored our contract that we recommend Mudslingers and would hire Chris again.
"Did great work! Would totally use them again! I was really eager to start the repair, but I had to wait until a spot opened up. It was about 2 days, totally worth the wait!"
"Mr. Sullivan brought an assistant and they cleaned our Appleton 2-story Victorian home's gutters and repaired a spot damaged by an ice dam in last year's severe winter. They were pleasant and professional. I would recommend them for this work and will be calling them soon for another gutter cleaning. "
"The painting work was good. Took three tries to connect. Said I would get a discount because he didn’t show for first 2 appointments, but I didn’t. Asked me for lights to use when they came to paint. Got paint on my cork floor and left it."
"Geronimo Plaster was awesome to work with. Every step of the process was excellent, from the very first contact on the phone to the completion of the work Geronimo Plaster was a true professional. Geronimo Plaster has unbeatable prices, free estimates and they do top-notch work. I had a large-sized hole in my bathroom ceiling and when Geronimo Plaster got done with the work my ceiling looked new. You couldn’t even tell that I ever had a hole in my ceiling. Most of the time when people repair drywall, afterwards you can see lines and crevices where the work was done. Not with Geronimo Plaster! My ceiling was smooth and looked like new when he was finished with the job. Also, you don’t have to worry about cleaning up anything afterwards because they did a good job of that as well. Geronimo Plaster came in and knocked the job out without playing around. Some companies milk the job so they can charge you for more hours. Not Geronimo Plaster. They were all business no games. Geronimo Plaster is trustworthy, reliable and professional. If anyone needs any home repair or remodeling work done I can say from my own personal experience with Geronimo Plaster that you can hire them with peace, knowing that the job is in good hands."
To maintain plaster walls, inspect them regularly for cracks and seal them early. Clean the walls by dusting regularly or using a gentle, damp cloth. It's also important to avoid moisture exposure. Repainting as needed will help maintain the wall's appearance and longevity.
Plaster is a pretty tough surface, but it can still sustain damage from things like bumping against it, water issues, dampness, extreme humidity changes, and plain old age. Most plaster walls last hundreds of years and will only be taken down to the base layer when major repairs are required. Being cautious around the wall, not placing furniture against it, and ensuring stable humidity are all great ways to reduce possible damage.
You can put certain types of plaster over other types, but doing so isn't always the best idea. For example, putting a coat of gypsum over lime plaster is possible, but doing so will limit the lime plaster's breathability and potentially affect its performance.
Since cement plaster tends to leave a textured surface, no matter how much you smooth it, some people prefer to use gypsum plaster as a topcoat over cement plaster, creating a smoother surface.
You can technically just paint over hairline cracks in plaster since these cracks are often harmless, but this will mostly be a waste of paint. Paint will only hide the hairline crack for a few months before it shows up again. The best solution is to repair the crack with flexible filler or joint compound before repainting.
Ensures structural integrity and aesthetic consistency with proper materials and techniques.
