"Arrived on time and prepared. Worked efficiently removing a large silver maple with significant trunk damage. Did a fantastic job working around other trees, fence lines, and a garden. Great communication and easy to work with. Would definitely hire again/recommend."

"Bigfoot Stump Grinding did a fantastic job for me. I had several tree stumps as well as several very large bushes that needed to be removed. He worked diligently on each project, did a great job cleaning up and charged a reasonable fee. Would certainly hire him again should I need his services."

Small jobs welcome

I’m Nick Herman, from the Green Bay area. Most of my career has been in flexo printing — running plants, training operators, and solving problems when the line is down. That same mindset is how I run Woodya Look At That Tree Service. I started it as a one-man operation because I like being on the tools and I like finishing a job clean. I do removals, storm cleanup, and large hardwoods — oaks included — using proper lowering and rigging so we’re not tearing up yards. I’m not a big crew with a fancy truck wrap. I’m the guy who shows up, assesses the tree, and takes it down safely. If that’s what you need, the number is 920-634-6352.

I’m a hardworking, dependable guy who takes pride in every job I do. I believe in showing up, working hard, and finishing the job promptly and to the best of my ability. I don’t believe in cutting corners—I put the time and effort in to make sure the job is done right.\n\nI’m also a proud husband and father, and providing for my family and setting a good example for my kids is what motivates me every day. I treat every job with the same respect and dedication I would give to my own home.

Tree Service FAQs, answered by experts

You don’t always need a permit to grind a stump, but you might need one depending on your location and the stump’s surroundings. Permits are often needed if the stump is part of a protected tree species, near public areas or utility lines, or close to environmentally sensitive zones like wetlands. Some cities also regulate noise and work hours. Always check local rules before grinding, and contact your city or county office if you're unsure.

While palm trees can bring aesthetic appeal to your yard, they have a couple of drawbacks. The main disadvantage is that many types require warm climates, so if you live in a cold region, you need to ensure you pick a palm that can withstand the freezing temperatures. Another downside is that maintenance can be difficult because of their height, which means you will need to pay a pro to prune the tree as needed.

Yes, the same rules discussed above apply to your neighbor: They can trim one of your trees as long as they’re only cutting the portion that extends into their property. Your neighbor is not allowed to access your property without permission, nor can they cut past the property line.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.
