"Chad was on time and was very professional on our first meeting . We settled on a date and time and was quoted a reasonable price. He arrived on time and I hadn’t been home when he started and he had half the tree down when I arrived. Clean up was awesome nothing for me to do. He placed all the wood where I requested. You wouldn’t know that the tree had ever been there. I give him 10 stars if I could. Thank you Chad and CB Services"

"Bigfoot Stump Grinding did a fantastic job for me. I had several tree stumps as well as several very large bushes that needed to be removed. He worked diligently on each project, did a great job cleaning up and charged a reasonable fee. Would certainly hire him again should I need his services."

"Chase excelled in customer service. The job couldâ ve been done by anyone with the right equipment. "My first experience with Angi was to hire Ethan with Above The Horizon LLC. It was an excellent experience. Ethan responded to my inquiry for shrub removal promptly. He came out to inspect the job the next day and we agreed on a reasonable price. He set up the marking by USIC a.k.a. diggers hotline. He was out to complete the work the day after USIC had marked. The job was completed quickly and finished neatly as agreed upon. Ethan was friendly and professional and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Above The Horizon LLC for your arborist service tree and shrub care!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The cost of professional tree trimming averages $460, with a typical range between $200 and $760. However, prices can be as low as $75 or as high as $1,800 depending on several factors. The size and type of the tree are major cost drivers; for example, trimming Crepe Myrtle trees costs an average of $80 to $400, while trimming giant pine trees can range from $200 to $1,800. Other factors that influence the price include the time of year, as services are often more costly in the spring. The tree's accessibility and your location also play a role, as a remote or hard-to-reach tree may increase the cost. Some professionals may offer a discount if you have multiple trees to trim.

Most tree removals take 3-8 hours, requiring additional time for stump grinding or debris hauling.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

Often, it’s the homeowner’s responsibility to handle the aftermath when a neighbor’s tree falls on their property. But if a tree has been obviously dead for a significant period of time and caused damage when it fell, a case can be made that the owner should have removed it, especially if the neighbor wrote you a letter about the tree or asked you to take it down. This can be grounds for a successful lawsuit in claims court and is a good reason to always pay attention to your trees and remove dead trees before they fall.

Yes, forestry mulching can grind stumps, but the level of effectiveness depends on the equipment used. Drum mulchers can break down smaller stumps, but larger or deep-rooted stumps may require a dedicated stump grinder for complete removal. If full stump removal is necessary for replanting or construction, additional excavation may be needed. Always check with your forestry mulching provider to confirm whether they offer stump grinding and if their equipment is suitable for your specific needs.
