"Many local plumbers don't even respond to our recent plumbing needs, I assume because their too busy with larger plumbing jobs. Tim called back the same day and one of his team showed up at our convenience, cleaned out a main drain pipe in the basement and added an additional vent pipe under the upstairs sink to reduce a suspected venting issue that was causing the basement drain pipes to become overwhelmed when washing clothes."

To accommodate the larger toilet, you would need to move the drainpipe, which could cost between $0.75 and $30 per linear foot, plus labor. In most cases, it is more cost-effective and simpler to purchase a new 10-inch rough-in toilet. However, it is possible to install a 10-inch rough-in toilet in a 12-inch space by using a longer connector.
