"My windows were so inefficient I couldn’t get the temperature above 63° in the winter. I used to put plastic on the windows and the wind would blow the plastic. Lol. Also there was a significant sound improvement living near Highway 441. Installation was bing bang boom and finished within a couple hours. (Installed 5 Slider WINDOWS Fall 2018)"

"It’s always great finding someone local you can trust for projects around the house. The work was done quickly, professionally, and with a lot of attention to detail. Communication was easy and everything was handled smoothly from start to finish. It’s clear he takes pride in what he does and wants the job done right. I’d gladly call again for future projects and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable handyman in the area."

"I talked with Shawn who was very nice and knowledgeable. He was very accommodating to my schedule. He made suggestions as to the kind of shingles to get, but did not push a certain "type". The workers showed up on time and got right to work. No one stood around with nothing to do. They laid tarps all around the house to protect plants, etc. They had a truck in the driveway to put all the old shingles in. Only took 8 hours. Great clean up and the went around the house with a metal rake for nails. Great experience. I would recommend."

"I hired Affordable Remodeling to replace the flooring in the living room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Also to replace the countertops in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms, to build and replace the main bathroom vanity, to replace 3 toilets, and to put up a backsplash on one of the kitchen walls. Silas, my main contractor did a wonderful job on everything!! Very pleased with his workmanship and the outcome of the remodeling project."

"I had to come out and look at my driveway. Ended up having him look at a water issue in my basement and they made a good recommendation and I’m gonna have them fix my basement into the driveway."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

In Stevens Point, begin spring by checking window screens for winter damage and clearing away debris. After summer storms, inspect mesh and frames for tears or bending. Clean screens monthly during peak pollen season to maintain airflow. Before winter, repair minor issues and treat frames to prevent moisture damage. If screens are removed seasonally, store them in a dry, temperature-controlled area to prevent warping.

Helpful?

To streamline your screen repair project in Stevens Point, measure all window and door openings during mild weather for accuracy. Order mesh and frame materials early, as some supplies may require extra shipping time. Schedule repairs between late spring and early fall to avoid harsh weather. Photograph existing screens for reference, and coordinate with local waste services for responsible disposal of old materials.

Helpful?

For safer screen repair in Stevens Point, keep sharp tools and cleaning products out of reach during the project. Choose pet-resistant mesh for lower panels to prevent damage from claws and ensure window screens are securely installed. Use non-toxic cleaners and set up barriers to keep children and pets away from the workspace. In older homes, test frames for lead paint before sanding or scraping.

Helpful?

Before starting screen repair in Stevens Point, review any neighborhood or historic district guidelines that may affect exterior changes. Monitor the weather and plan for a stretch of mild days to complete the work. Prepare an indoor workspace as backup, measure all openings carefully, and photograph existing screens for reference. Notify neighbors about potential noise and arrange for proper disposal of old screen materials.

Helpful?

The longevity of screen repair in Stevens Point depends on selecting durable window screen mesh that resists UV rays and corrosion, crucial for the area’s fluctuating temperatures and humidity. Reinforced aluminum or vinyl frames withstand high winds and spring storms. Proper screen installation ensures frames remain square, while fine mesh helps block local insects and pollen, extending the life of your screen replacement.
