"They did an excellent job, and were able to get it done in record time. All other companies were several weeks, or even months out. Maybe I just got lucky. Dustin and his crew demolished the old sidewalk running down the side of the house between the house and fence, and replaced it with fresh concrete anchored to the foundation to correct the slope. They also filled a foundation crack under one of my vents. All work had to be done by hand, with wheelbarrows because of the lack of truck access."

The terms 'concrete resurfacing' and 'concrete overlay' are often used interchangeably, though the exact meaning can vary between contractors. Generally, both refer to applying a layer of pre-blended concrete, typically between 1/4-inch and 1-inch thick. Some contractors may use 'overlay' to describe a thicker application that adds structural integrity, while 'resurfacing' might refer to a thinner, more cosmetic layer. This process is a cost-effective alternative to completely replacing the concrete, as it uses significantly less material than pouring a new 4-inch slab. Resurfacing also provides an opportunity to add new colors or stamped textures. Other names for this process include concrete restoration, concrete refinishing, and concrete rejuvenation.

Concrete leveling is absolutely worth it if you have sunken concrete slabs and want to restore them to level, especially if the slab is part of your home foundation. Concrete leveling is less than half the price of replacing concrete sidewalks, patios, walkways, and pool decks, and it’s about a quarter of the cost of replacing a foundation. If you also treat the underlying problem, it can be a worthwhile and permanent solution.

You can dry pour concrete over existing concrete, but it’s best to use wet pour concrete instead. Exposure to intense sunlight, rain, snow, and frequent temperature fluctuations can weaken the surface more quickly. To prolong its life, you should reseal the concrete every one to three years and patch any small cracks as they appear.
