I have owned and operated Mr. Chimney Sweep for 30 years. I am the owner operator of this business. My wife answers the phone, and I have one full time employee, Michael Snider. We are a complete chimney service provider. I have been certified with the CSIA for 30 years, and a member of the National Chimney Sweep for the same period. I am also a member of the Wisconsin Chimney Specialist Guild. Cost depends on the job. We are professional, clean, punctual, and honest.

Ice damming happens when ice forms on the roof (usually where the roof meets the gutter) and melts stubbornly slowly, causing moisture to enter the roof itself and, therefore, the home.

Although you may want to use a pressure washer, the truth is that you probably don’t need it to knock moss loose. A garden hose and brush will do the job just fine and in a safer manner than a pressure washer.

In most cases, it’s a good idea to leave the icicles on your roof and wait for the warmer weather to melt them away naturally. You should only remove icicles if you believe they’re heavy enough to cause damage to your home or anyone who enters it.
