"It was great i was told by nick he would be at my place at 12 pm and he actually was 15 min earlies he set up my whole garage to work on cars exactly how i wanted and imagined he even built my work bench so it collapses into the wall like i wanted and put outlets in it as well he was reasonably priced and didnt rape me with labor i am having him come back this spring to redo my deck as well he was professionable and knowledgeable"

When choosing between porcelain and ceramic tile, the best option depends on your specific needs, budget, and project application. Porcelain tile is generally more durable, denser, and harder than ceramic, making it a good choice for busy, high-traffic areas. It also offers superior moisture resistance, making it ideal for moisture-retaining spaces. However, porcelain is typically more expensive, and its hardness can make it brittle, potentially causing it to crack if a heavy object is dropped on it. In contrast, ceramic tile is a more budget-friendly option with lower material and installation costs. It is softer and easier to work with, making it a great choice for DIY projects. While not as durable as porcelain, ceramic is still a quality material suitable for many home applications, particularly small, decorative projects.

To ensure an even and unbending surface to lay tiles on, you’ll typically need to put a subfloor under a tile floor. Fiber cement backboards are the most common choice, but using plywood is also possible. Don’t neglect this step, or you could risk water damage and grout or tiles prematurely cracking or crumbling, especially in an area with high foot traffic. 

The reasons not to install flooring underneath a bathtub outweigh the benefits. A properly installed bathtub will keep water from reaching the unprotected subfloor underneath. Installing a tub on top of finished flooring can lead to damage and scratches to the new floor. Also, a small leak from a tub drain may be more difficult to notice if finished flooring impedes water drips.

The best trowel for penny tile is a 3/16-inch-by-5/32-inch V-notch trowel. Because of the small size of the penny tile, you want a trowel with small notches that can lay a thin layer of mortar on the surface you’re tiling. If the notches are too wide, you risk applying too thick of a layer of mortar, and it can squeeze out between the penny tiles.

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.
