"I was very happy with Advance Cleaning’s work. I had water coming into my basement after a lot of heavy rainfall, so I knew I needed to deal with my gutters. Yanks was very responsive, scheduling was quick and easy, and he and his associate were on the job very fast! They worked nonstop on a very hot day and made sure all the downspouts were flowing freely before they finished. Everything works and looks really great after their work."

"Michelle mowed the lawn on our property and did a fine job. She even used a Weed-Whacker around most of the trees. Our lawn looks fantastic! Her work is good and her price was very affordable. We will definitely call her again."

"Tyler did a nice job washing all of our windows! He was very responsive and even checked in the day after he cleaned the windows to ensure everything looked good and offered to come back if anything was missed (which we didn’t need it all looked great). He washed the inside and outside of my windows. Will definitely use him again!"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

You can use hot water to melt ice from your driveway, but there are some serious caveats. Very hot water can quickly melt ice and remove it, which is helpful if you’re very short on time and need a solution ASAP. However, it will only work across a small area, after which there’s a chance the water will freeze again. The sudden clash of temperatures is dangerous for fragile materials, notably windows and other glass, so you’ll want to keep the water away from your car.

If a big freeze catches you by surprise and you don’t have any deicer to hand, you can reduce the chance of taking a tumble by laying gritty, anti-slip materials. Some natural, readily-available options that don’t melt ice but offer traction underfoot include sand, wood shavings, kitty litter, and fireplace ash.

If you’re struggling to find anything else suitable in your cupboards, a vinegar and water ice melt makes for a passable quick fix. Just don’t expect it to clear your concrete the way commercial products or rock salt will. Mix equal parts vinegar and warm water and squeegee away the watery slush to prevent more slippery surfaces from forming.

While most people associate defrosting icy roads with salt, you can also use sugar for a similar result. Sugar lowers the freezing point of water, melting ice in a pinch.

However, sugar doesn’t melt ice as well as salt because it doesn’t separate the water molecules as efficiently. So, if you need to quickly melt a stubborn patch of ice on your driveway or walkway, it’s best to use salt over sugar for faster results.

Services include plowing, shoveling, salting, and de-icing for parking lots, walkways, and entrances.
