"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. "In 2002, my 22 year old son suffered a traumatic brain injury while skiing. We built an addition on to our home to care for him 24 hours a day. At the time, his care required the use of equipment to keep him functioning. We had a generator installed for those occasions when the power went out. Many times this generator was needed and it kept my son alive. We had it serviced each year for $300. For 18 years we promptly paid $5,400 for service. My son died in 2018 and I kept servicing the generator because my husband had died from cancer in 2013 and I was trying to maintain the household and fearful of a gas generator in disrepair blowing up. In 2021, I had the generator serviced in the summer as I had continued to do, and 3 months later when a storm caused the power to go out the generator did not come on. I called ADAMS the next morning and was told that that shouldn’t have happened and they would send out a technician. The technician arrived a few days later and informed me that the generator was set to exercise “too high” and it had overheated and turned itself off. He reset it to the proper level and cordially assured me that all was now well and I was grateful. He was a very nice young man. I mistakenly assumed that this was a courtesy call to rectify the mistake of the previous technician who had set the generator too high 3 months before. When the bill for $135 appeared for the repair, I refused to pay it. I called many times and the one time I got through, I tearfully explained my long story to the receptionist, including the fact that if my son had still been alive, the broken generator would have ended his life. She said she was sorry for my loss and that she would take care of it. However, I continued to get bills and am now threatened with a collection agency and damage to my credit score. I am not worried about my very high excellent credit score. I have paid every bill I have ever I received all 68 years of my life and have raised 6 adult children to do exactly the same, as they are doing for all 15 of my grandchildren. I am paying this $135 bill and hope it goes right into the pocket of the technician who reset the generator properly but they probably fired him for telling me the truth. Do business with this company at your own risk."

If you run an AC with a dirty filter, it could allow dust and dirt to build up in your ductwork, which could make you sick.
