"Really well. The trees needed to be removed because they were too close to the house. Some were already dead. The trees were carefully removed without incident. Communication was good. They made sure not cut anything they weren’t supposed In my opinion they charged a fair price for this service."

"Central Wisconsin Excavating (CWE) did a fantastic job on our project. They built a solid, well-prepared foundation for our 80,000-bushel grain bin and graded our driveways perfectly to ensure water drains away from our buildings. Their attention to detail, quality of work, and professionalism really stood out. The site was left clean and properly finished, and everything was done right the first time. We’re extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend CWE to anyone needing excavation or site work done right."

"It was a great experience! It took them maybe 30-45 minutes to get the big icky stump out of the front yard. They got rid of all the woodchips, covered the hole evenly with the rest of the yard, and made it look like they were never there."

"No tree trimming, but brush trimming. Rock retainer wall repair. Rock landscaping. Laid sod for lawn repair. Red granite in outdoor fire pit area, as well as red granite at bottom of steps to the lake. Fred Fisher did an amazing job. He is especially very good at communicating the project from start to end, with no surprises when completed. He is very detail orientated. I would highly recommend Fred."

"I was recommended Ethan’s tree removal and stump grinding services by a neighborly friend. Ethan had great communication, prompt service, and did the job right. I was very happy with how quickly and efficiently he cut down 2 trees, as well as ground down 4 stumps. I would recommend him highly for any tree related needs. Thanks Ethan for a job well done!"

"Brice is great to work with and does exceptional work. The tree/stump removal (very old and big Ash tree) and tree stump removal on other trees on the property went without a hitch. We hired him back for landscaping work. Would definitely hire him again."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.

No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines.

It depends on where you live—but in most areas, leaves begin falling in September and continue falling until January or February. Warmer regions, such as Southern states, may see leaves fall a bit later in the calendar year. It also depends on the type of trees in your yard and their maturity.

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

In most cases, you should not use a pruning seal on trees after trimming. Applying a sealant can interfere with the tree's natural healing process, and it does not guarantee protection from pathogens. Instead of sealing the cut, the best practice is to support the tree's natural recovery by providing it with plenty of water and a dormant-style fertilizer. However, there are exceptions. Pruning seals may be recommended for very vulnerable species, like elm trees, in areas where dangerous diseases such as Dutch elm disease are prevalent. In these specific situations, the protection offered by a sealant can outweigh its downsides. For advice tailored to your situation, especially after cutting large branches, it is best to consult a local tree trimming professional.
