"I am so grateful that we found Russ Swanson ! He recently built a pool deck for us and we could not be happier. The attention to detail, and the quality of work and materials is outstanding. My wife and I had a general idea of what we wanted, and some rough sketches, Russ listened to what we wanted and made some suggestions and made our vision a reality. Possibly most importantly is that Russ was so easy to work with in every way. He was very accessible and returned calls and emails very quickly, he was very hands-on with the project, and as we asked for small tweaks to the design, he worked with us and made it happen. I can say from experience, Russ was the easiest contractor that I have ever worked with on any project and would resoundingly recommend him without any hesitation."

Small jobs welcome

"Mike is awesome !!! Very reliable, take accountability and delivers on-time and with quality. We hired Mike after a friend of ours referred him to us. We had been struggling to find a responsible contractor to get our kitchen, bathroom, and basements remodeled but after meeting Mike and going over the process we knew he is the real deal. We initially did just Kitchen and bathrooms and we were extremely satisfied with quality, timeliness, cleanliness and on-budget delivery of a project. Mike was very reliable and vetted sub-contractors that he hires and all of them do a very good job. Mike kept us informed on progress - what will be done this week, following week, etc - that made it very easy for us to plan activities that we wanted to get done differently. We then hired Mike again after 6 months to get basement remodeled and are very delighted at how it turned out to be. We added a couple of rooms, entertainment area, bathroom, and small kitchen - work was done professionally, with quality and on promised schedule."

Customers say: Quick response

"Project: Repair facia and soffit damage to my garage roof from very high winds. Joe did exactly what he said he would do when he said he would do it. He spent time looking to match the facia color which was difficult do to the age of the facia. The end result was perfect. I will be letting Joe do some additional work this spring. I highly recommend Joe and Alliance Trim for any job or project that his company specializes in."

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Log cabins are relatively difficult to maintain compared to a traditional house. That’s because log cabins require regular upkeep and care that can include refinishing and corncob blasting, a process similar to sandblasting that shoots ground-up corncob with compressed air.

Porticos last 25 to 60 years, depending on the material used. A portico’s roof typically matches the roof of the rest of the home and can be replaced simultaneously. Portico columns have a similar life span if properly maintained and regularly sealed. In some areas, harsh weather and extreme temperatures may cause a portico to wear more quickly.

On average, building or installing a gazebo costs around $5,700, with a typical range between $3,000 and $10,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the gazebo's size, shape, material, and design complexity. Material choice is a significant cost driver; for example, brick is often more affordable, while metal can be one of the more expensive options. Square-shaped gazebos can also be more expensive to build. Custom features, such as built-in seating or lighting, will increase the total price. You may be able to save money by purchasing a prefabricated gazebo kit or performing some of the labor yourself.

Common materials include wood, vinyl, and metal. Wood offers a classic look, while vinyl and metal are low-maintenance options.

Clean regularly, seal wood surfaces, and inspect for damage or rust to ensure longevity and safety.
