"The project was just fantastic. Everything proceeded like clockwork and the constant communication during the day kept me well appraised how things were progressing. Their attention to detail was obvious by making sure that everything was covered with tarps and all nails were picked up plus all little pieces of debris were also picked up. They left my house looking much better when they were done then when they arrived. Farmer and Chance headed up the crew and did a fabulous job. I would hire them again for any work around my house."

Small jobs welcome

"The church I work for experienced a situation of a dead rodent inside the building, which left a very pungent, distinct, odor. Upon consulting with the professionals at Elite Indoor Air, LLC, we decided to give their equipment a shot. The odor was 100% removed from the space within 48 hours. After further consideration, the church decided to purchase the equipment for future use in those types of instances, as well as in the sanctuary when in-person worship services resumed. We received professional, courteous service and have recommended the services of Elite Indoor Air, LLC to others in the community."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Yes, a seller is legally required to disclose any known fire damage when selling a house, including damages that were repaired. That includes damages to structural components and all major systems, as well as water damage, chemical damage, and smoke damage related to the fire. Sellers use a property disclosure statement, which is regulated by each state individually, to disclose fire damage.

The unseen issues with a home are often the ones that turn out to be the most stressful. While inspections aren’t a legal requirement, they can highlight significant issues, such as damaged foundations, excessive mold, leaky basements, or problematic plumbing. These can cost thousands of dollars to repair, and the work can be invasive.

Knowing these things that fail a home inspection in advance allows you to decide if you want to proceed with the purchase. The seller may even cut back the sale price to help cover any renovation expenses or take care of them before closing.

Start by asking friends, family, and neighbors if they know any reliable roof inspectors. You can also ask contractors that you’ve worked with in the past—they often have a network of people they can reach out to. Once you do find a roof inspector you like, check their online presence, read customer reviews, and give them a call.

Make sure they’re properly licensed and insured in your area. It’s also a good idea to hire inspectors licensed by both the National Roof Certification & Inspection Association (NRCIA) and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI).

It's smart to schedule a foundation inspection after a significant drought, especially if you suspect new problems in your home's structure, such as cracks or uneven floors. Be sure to hire a certified contractor to inspect your foundation, particularly one that specializes in foundations or home inspections. Catching potential problems early on can help you avoid costly repairs in the long run.

Consulting the architect of your house is not the best way to determine when it was built. Many homes are built by developers or builders, so there may not be a specific architect to track down—especially if you have a very old house. Instead, it’s best to rely on local government records.
