"Jarret was very prompt, pleasant to talk with and did an excellent job. Communication was prompt. He worked very hard and had 4 25' arborvitaes taken down to the ground and hauled away within 1 hour. Very impressed. I highly recommend Jarret."

"Mitch did an excellent job of removing a dead Cherry tree from my back yard. He started by giving me the good advice that it would be best if we did it while the December weather was still mild, before winter really hit. So we had a nice warm, sunny day and got it done right before the first heavy snow storm of the season. Mitch was very efficient and it didn't take long to finish the work. And the wood was cut up and stacked just like I wanted it to be. A very good job. Thank you."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The best pro to hire for spraying trees is a tree maintenance specialist. These pros are well-versed in selecting the right spray treatment and applying it properly to ensure there’s no collateral damage to the tree or surrounding landscape. Many tree maintenance services employ certified arborists, but for these routine visits, the extra investment usually isn’t necessary.

While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.

Many species, especially when well-established, are not fans of transplantation. You’ll need to decide if you want to risk splashing the cash, understanding that transplantation isn’t always successful. Again, this is where hiring a pro is helpful, as they can give you all the essential info you need to ensure your tree stands a fighting chance.

It's easy to misidentify trees that appear to be maple trees due to similarities in leaf shapes. Sweetgum, sycamore, and yellow poplar all have leaf shapes and appearances similar to maples. The fact that around a dozen maple tree varieties exist, only about half of which are considered common, makes misidentification an often typical occurrence.

Palm trees are unique in that their roots don't grow straight down; they grow horizontally. Typically, palm tree roots go down between 12 and 36 inches deep. The roots grow far and wide from the base of the palm tree to absorb as much water and soil nutrients as possible. In addition, the horizontal roots are also very strong—keeping palm trees stable and helping them sway during storms.
