"Not long after we moved to Menomonee Falls and purchased our home, we had WASCO replace all twelve of our windows. Compared to our prior home these windows were a huge improvement! The ease of cleaning them from inside (multiple stories) was one of the best things along with a lifetime warranty. Years later there was a small issue with one and within days the service manager himself cam and inspected and did this minor repair. In this day and age that is a most impressive level of service. We highly recommend this fine company that has been in existence for all these years, unlike other others. I have no qualms recommending them. Lowell T. Carl Menomonee Falls."

"My windows were so inefficient I couldn’t get the temperature above 63° in the winter. I used to put plastic on the windows and the wind would blow the plastic. Lol. Also there was a significant sound improvement living near Highway 441. Installation was bing bang boom and finished within a couple hours. (Installed 5 Slider WINDOWS Fall 2018)"

"After having met with a few window contractors for my home window replacement project, I chose to go with Wisconsin Window Pros. I initially met with Jody (Director of Sales) and he did a very detailed review of their windows â specifically pointing out the various aspects of the windows construction and benefits. He presented by far, the most informative technical information of all of the contractors that I had met with. I ordered the windows and they arrived in a reasonable time period. I worked closely with their installer (who communicated frequently and was attentive to my needs) through the next and final stages of the project. I scheduled my installation on a Saturday. The crew arrived as scheduled and completed the project around their estimated completion time. I was impressed that Jody took the time (on a Saturday) to stop by my house and check in with me on the progress of the installation. Overall, the windows look great and Iâ m happy that I selected Wisconsin Window Pros."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Window screens are available in several standard sizes. Common dimensions include 24 to 36 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall, as well as sizes like 18 by 14 inches and 20 by 20 inches. These often correspond to standard window sizes, such as 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall or 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Screens are also sold in replacement rolls to accommodate various dimensions. It is always best to measure your windows for accuracy before a repair or replacement. If your windows are a non-standard size, you will likely need to order custom screens, which can increase the cost. However, a screen does not necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to use a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.

The most affordable way to screen in a porch is to add a base track system to an existing wooden frame. The whole process should cost around $2,000 for supplies, depending on the size of your porch. It’s much pricier to build a screened-in porch or sunroom from scratch—and you’ll probably need to hire a contractor for a project like that.

Installing a basement window generally takes a few hours, assuming there are no structural issues you need to resolve first. If you’re a novice DIYer, the project could take longer; on the flip side, a licensed and trained window contractor may be able to replace multiple basement windows in the time it takes a homeowner to replace one.

Professionals clean window screens the same way a homeowner can—by removing the screens and cleaning them with a sponge. A window cleaning pro may come with better equipment, like a high powered wet/dry vacuum or pressure washer to speed up the process and achieve a deeper clean.

The steps to replace a retractable screen can vary, but these are the general steps: First, remove the screen cover to expose the screen mechanism and remove the clip that holds the screen in place. Next, depress the end of the screen mechanism so it releases from the door frame. Take your new screen and fit one end into the frame. You may need to rotate the mechanism to engage the spring before inserting the other end into the frame. Finally, pull the screen down the length of the door’s opening and lock it in place with the clip.
