Despite the extra work and materials needed, he stuck to his original price even when I asked to pay him more, which speaks volumes about his integrity. He returned a few days later to assemble the hoop, and the final result was perfect—every measurement was spot-on. Ken went above and beyond, and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again. "I was VERY disappointed by my experience with DJK Environmental. They had come to me as a recommendation from a realtor, so I thought they’d be good. We paid money to have the asbestos test expedited, which took longer than the timeline DJK gave me and they didn’t even call me when the results were in. They also made a few errors on the quote to remove the asbestos, and again didn’t seem to care about the timeline they had given me or earning the business from us. I had to track them down any time I wanted information . They did not keep me informed about anything which was awful considering the timeline we are on to move into our house. When I got quotes from a couple other companies for the same service, I learned that DJK are price gougers as they were going to charge me 40% more than the other bids. I notified my realtor about the horrible communication, awful pricing & negative experience with DJK to ensure they don’t get business from any of her clients ever again. Stay away from DJK"

On average, EIFS costs more than traditional stucco, both due to its complex materials and tricky installation. You'll pay between $7 and $9 per square foot for traditional stucco installation and $8 to $14 per square foot for EIFS. The curing time for stucco typically takes several weeks to fully complete. During the curing process, the stucco undergoes a chemical reaction and gradually hardens. You can apply stucco to wood by wrapping it with grade D waterproof paper, installing trim accessories such as metal lath, control joints, weep screeds, casing beads, and expansion joints, and applying the stucco in three layers. You’ll need a scratch coat, brown coat, and finish coat, all applied with a trowel and screeded with a darby or straight edge. Each should cure for two days before you apply the next one.

If it is applied properly, stucco is a durable material that can last between 50 and 80 years, especially with regular repair and maintenance. Things like painting the stucco every 10 years or so will help it last longer. The location of your home plays a big part in the life span of your stucco, too.
