"The project manager/Estimator, Shawn Tovar did a outstanding job with the repair job on my gutters all the gaps and leaks were taken care of. Shaw took pictures while estimating on the roof and showed me what needs to be done and the reason the reason why. Shawn was very professional. I was impressed when he told me that if there was anything I didn’t like about the work he did he would be back to fix it. "Wayne was excellent. He arrived promptly for estimate and installation. Listened to what I wanted done and offered suggestions when necessary. Very reasonable price for the work I had him complete. Removed old gutters and installed new gutters with leaf guards. He and one other person completed the project quickly and to my expectations. Their clean up was great and you wouldn’t even know we had any work done. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for gutter work!!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Gutter repair costs around $400 on average, and prices range from $200 up to $650 in most cases. You can expect to pay between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The best way to get an accurate estimate is to have a professional come out to price your project. Some factors that influence your total include the following:

  • Number of linear feet of gutter to repair

  • Gutter style

  • Gutter material

  • Accessibility of the gutters

  • Whether you have seamless or seamed gutters

  • Type of necessary repairs

Zinc gutters can truly last a lifetime. As one of the strongest materials used for roofing and gutter systems, zinc can last up to 90 years. Even copper gutters don't last as long as zinc gutters. Zinc gutters are a long-lasting investment in both the value and appearance of your home.

While minimal drippage may not be problematic, gutters that are constantly leaking or overflowing indicate damage or improper installation. A rain chain gutter or other ornamental feature may produce more dripping than usual. Likewise, rain dispersal systems may also cause water to sprinkle to the ground. However, if you notice pools of water or flooding around your property, then it’s a good idea to have your gutter system inspected.

If you’re replacing your roof, you don’t need to worry about replacing your gutters as long as they’re functional and in good condition. Some roofers may recommend temporarily removing gutters to prevent them from damage during a roof replacement, but the right professional can reduce this risk. Replacing your gutters would only be necessary if your gutters are in bad shape and already need replacing.

If your gutters get overwhelmed every time it rains, adding an extra downspout is a solution. First, you'll need to decide where to add the downspout. If your current setup only has a single downspout, one option is to place a new one at the opposite end of the gutter. If you already have a downspout at each end, adding a third one in the middle can help to lighten the load.

You can hire a professional to add a downspout yourself by cutting into the existing gutter and attaching the necessary parts, such as an outlet and brackets.
