"We were gifted Cindi’s services as a housewarming gift from my fiancés parents. They paid her a deposit at the end of September to work on our yard and we had to reach out to her numerous times to get a timeframe of when she will be coming out. Finally, November 2nd comes and Cindi and her crew of two didn’t show up until 12-1pm and worked until 4:30 for two days, it was dark by then. Cindi was very pushy about planting plants or doing this or that and we told her all we wanted was the yard cleared and leveled—we can do the planting. We had a crack in the veneer in the corner of our house, in which we already had a cement Mason come out & start on the project. Cindi took it upon herself to have her cement Mason come and look at the job and offered us a quote. I told her we already have someone, for the 3rd time. We hired to do landscape not contract other work around our house. She used our gardening tools because she didn’t have enough, which is mind boggling for a landscaping company. She was awful with communication, she offered to have cellar doors installed for us and we naively have her a check to cover the cost of the doors and labor. That was the first week of November, we never heard from her until my fiancé reached out to her 3 weeks later asking for a status. She said she was in FL and didn’t have the measurements with her and is NOW having an issue finding a person to install. We said ok, we will look for doors as well and sent her some doors from your local hardware stores. She said those won’t work because our dimensions are hard to come by and sends us a screenshot of an estimate from a company for custom built doors which was more than the check we wrote her. We told her we can’t afford that right now, can you please send us the check wrote you along with a proper invoice for the backyard…we didn’t hear from her until today when she sent us the invoice that does not match the invoice she originally gave us and charged us $200 for 11.5 hours of cellar door research…..WHAT?!?! I reached out to her and she never responded I didn’t get my full refund back that I gave her for the cellar doors. All in all, such bad customer service and business etiquette. I will never do work with her again and I will never be foolish to give someone money without a product or installation plan."

While installing a carport will have only a slight, if any, bearing on increasing the selling price of your home, simply having a high-quality and well-maintained carport can improve the selling appeal to would-be house buyers. However, a poorly-maintained carport in disrepair can have the opposite effect and hurt the home's sales appeal.

Poured concrete is one of the best bases for a carport. You'll get one of the biggest bangs for your buck with concrete, thanks to its durability. At the same time, if concrete isn't in your budget, it might not be the best base for your installation. Dirt foundations, gravel foundations, and permeable pavers work in a crunch and can be long-lasting without the higher price tag of poured concrete.

Yes, professionals offer various roofing materials, including shingles and metal, to match home aesthetics.

Although dependent on the type and size of lumber, most 2-by-4-by-8-foot pieces of lumber cost anywhere from $3 to $6. Softwood lumber like pine falls on the lower end of the spectrum, while hardwood lumber like oak or walnut falls on the higher end. Different retailers and lumber yards can also vary in price, so it helps to shop around to compare prices.

The national average cost of a building permit is about $1,600, but this number includes extensive renovations. Homeowners typically spend between $150 and $2,000 in general on one or multiple permits for their project. Conversely, permits for simple projects, such as minor electrical renovations, could cost as little as $10.
