"I met with Ariel Zmijewski to get a quote to side my house and garage and to install two new attic windows. I'm a single woman and homeowner and I have encountered more than my share of contractors who tend to patronize me because I am a woman. I called in several quotes for the siding job on my home and Ariel was the only one who treated me with genuine respect. Of course, I wouldn't have hired him just based on that, but GF also offered a competitive price for the job as well as quality materials. Ariel said it would take about six weeks to get the material and then they would schedule my job and after 5 weeks, Ariel called and said the material was in and would be delivered to my home in two days and they would begin the job the following Monday! Ariel guesstimated the job would take about two weeks, but it actually wound up taking four weeks - the reason being they encountered a couple issues when siding my house. I have an older home and it seems like anything I do in renovating my home causes issues - which is why I have learned it is very important to have competent contractors on the job and that is what I had with GF. Though the job took longer than planned due to these issues, these issues were resolved with fluidity and the end result is amazing! Neighbors and family have complimented me on the look of my home and also on the fellas doing the job - they were impressed at how detailed they were! The crew doing my siding and windows were amazing - ask for Mike, Jeremy and Tom and you will NOT be disappointed. These guys were not only professional in their behavior but real nice down to earth guys! I had a lot of detail work on my front porch and they took great pains to ensure everything looked nice. I baked cookies and had chips and water and pop for them one day and gave them money to buy lunch for themselves another day and really wished I could have done more - these guys work great together! And, Ariel came out to check out the work and monitored the job until it was done. He always returned my phone calls promptly and never acted like I was bothering him. I am going to get the remaining windows replaced on my home in the near future and will happily be using Ariel and GF to do the job! "
"Work is basically ok but terrible communication and rather messy, including coming home to find the work crew having taken over my garage as work space without letting me know and leaving a mess for me to clean up. Owner didn’t seem to care and was not communicative of additional costs incurred. I would not recommend."

HMD is the only flat-fee virtual consulting service that allows collaboration at multiple points in the process with our client. We help our clients navigate the design process by breaking it down into a linear process. Next we help you choose the major pieces in the room that will determine style and the overall color palette, and then we specify products and sources that fit within those parameters.\nThe design process is not universal to every design firm (or TV show.) Please call or email – we’d love to chat about your project and how we anticipate working with you to create your dream home!
"Not blown away. I provided a good deal of information up-front: floorplans from my builder, exact measurements of room, my design preferences - including several stores I like to shop at to give her an idea of my style. After I had provided all of this, Jill said she'd have my designs to me in about 4 weeks. I did not receive them for at least 8-10 weeks, and that was after several emails to her requesting status of the project. If I wouldn't have prodded I'm not sure how long (if ever) I would have received what was promised. When I did receive my designs, they were floorplans, which was as expected. Along with a page or two of copy-and-pasted pictures of a few possible furniture selection. Which was much less than I expected. Based on the description I expected boards, with color selections, upholstery, etc. This was a big disappointment, especially after waiting 2-3 times longer than she had told me it would take."

A garage door screen can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you frequently use your garage for activities like a home gym, workshop, or other hobbies. It allows you to enjoy fresh air and natural light without worrying about bugs. Additionally, a screen provides ventilation that can improve air quality when you're working with paints, varnishes, or producing sawdust.
The best option depends on your usage. For occasional use, a DIY fabric screen is a low-cost, simple solution that you can put up and take down as needed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the space, investing in a customized, professionally installed garage door screen can help transform the area into a new hub for your household.
A garage door panel is a section of the garage door that spans the width of the door and connects to other panels above and/or below to create a folding door. The panels usually each have rollers on the sides that fit into the tracks and direct the sectioned door to open and close while remaining in balance.
All garage doors, particularly newly installed models, add value to your home. Higher-quality and higher-priced doors increase the ROI, so a well-insulated custom garage door increases the value of your home more than a poorly-insulated stock model. Updating a garage door boasts the second-highest home improvement ROI, at nearly 95%.
If you take caution around fragile garage parts, thawing methods shouldn’t cause problems. Avoid using direct sources of heat too close to the garage door, especially rubber parts.
Another spot to avoid heating is the garage door spring. This powerful metal spring can become very cold in winter. Applying heat to a cold spring increases the chances it could break.
If you enjoy tinkering with cars, woodworking, or exercising in your garage, then a garage heater may be worth it to you. If your garage is used mainly for storage, you may opt to skip installing a garage heater. If you live somewhere with favorable weather year-round, you can probably go without one as well. But for most homeowners, a garage heater is a good investment and makes the garage a more comfortable place to spend time.
