"Nick showed me his certification and removed his shoes before coming into my home. He took pictures of my chimney crown so I could see the cracks which will require repair on a future visit. He did an exceptional job of cleaning and inspecting my chimney and provided a great deal of useful advice. I highly recommend Nick."

"We needed downspout repair and replacement. Matthew matched the color of our original gutters perfectly and did the work quickly and competently. He was friendly and easy to work with. Initial contact to job completion was less than a week. I so appreciated his prompt communication. He took time to answer all our questions and explained solutions to our problems. This was one of the easier home repairs I've dealt with. I'd definitely hire Matthew again."

"Overall the job went quite well. The owner Steve did an excellent presentation of what was to be done with his proposal. While not the least expensive bid we received, I had the most confidence in them based on Steve's presentation and references from friends who new of them or had used them. The bid called for 3 days of work and Steve had his crew on site bright and early on day 1 and completed the work right on schedule. The roofing system installed was done in an excellent fashion and it looks great. I did have a couple issues with some flashing and some siding corners that were unavoidably damaged during the old roof removal but Steve's site foreman repaired or replaced the damaged items (I had a piece of the siding corner material on hand) without hesitation.
The crew was very friendly and courteous and was very careful to protect the plants surrounding the house from falling materials. They also did a very good job of cleanup after each day of the job which is extremely messy as you might expect. This was very important to us in that we have a dog who has free run of the yard around the house. Very little materials have been found around the house following the work which is amazing since we had some wind during the day.
The only issue that took a bit of time to resolve and was not BH's direct responsibility was our driveway suffered some damage when the shingles were delivered and lifted up onto the roof by the shingle supplier. They use a large truck with outrigger legs to stabilize the truck when lifting the shingles. Unfortunately one of the legs was positioned on a slope and the pad on the leg made an impression into our asphalt. The problem was noted on the completion report to BH and Steve followed up with the supplier to implement repairs even though this was not a problem caused by his crew. The supplier called me back immediately, came out the next day to view the damage then made arrangements to have it repaired. Very professional and no additional cost to me.
Last but not least, Steve's office staff has done an excellent job ensuring our satisfaction. Very professional, very good customer service which is an attribute I highly regard in a service supplier.
Work quality overall is excellent, we've already had some pretty good wind and rain since the work was done and the house has remained dry as a bone. Thank  you BH for a job well done!

Gutter Repair and Replacement FAQs, answered by experts

Once you’ve installed your gutters, you'll need to maintain them. You should clean your gutters once or twice a year to keep them functioning correctly. But if climbing a ladder and scooping out handfuls of wet leaf gunk is just not your thing, you can hire a professional gutter cleaner near you to do the job.

If you are experiencing minor issues with your gutters, such as a small leak or cracks in one or two sections, it makes more sense to repair the issue than to replace your entire gutter system. However, you may need to replace your gutters if they’re frequently detaching from your home or if you notice a buildup of mold or mildew in your basement.

If your gutters get overwhelmed every time it rains, adding an extra downspout is a solution. First, you'll need to decide where to add the downspout. If your current setup only has a single downspout, one option is to place a new one at the opposite end of the gutter. If you already have a downspout at each end, adding a third one in the middle can help to lighten the load.

You can hire a professional to add a downspout yourself by cutting into the existing gutter and attaching the necessary parts, such as an outlet and brackets.

With routine maintenance, gutters don’t usually need to be replaced for 20 years, but there are warning signs that they might need early replacement. Signs that your gutters need to be replaced include sagging, visible cracks or holes, peeling paint, rust, standing water in your gutter, and water leaking into your basement. Pushing off replacing your gutters can lead to extensive damage to both the interior and exterior of your home. Regular maintenance can help your gutters last all 20 years — and sometimes, even longer.

Yes. Excessive pitch in gutters can cause water to flow too rapidly, leading to a decrease in the gutter's water-holding capacity; consequently, during heavy rainstorms, water may awkwardly splash outside the gutters. Ideally, you should aim for a quarter-inch of gutter slope for every 10 feet of gutter run. However, it's important to note that this guideline may vary depending on your home's structure and the type of gutters being installed.
