"Matthew is hard working and conscientious and takes pride in his work. Our project was difficult and he took the time to figure out the best way to do our gutters to get water away from our old 1912 basement. It was challenging to say the least and he did a great job. Steep roof lines, poorly done prior gutters, and bad lawn grading were just a few of the issues. He rose to the occasion and did a great job. And, hes a great guy."

"Overall the job went quite well. The owner Steve did an excellent presentation of what was to be done with his proposal. While not the least expensive bid we received, I had the most confidence in them based on Steve's presentation and references from friends who new of them or had used them. The bid called for 3 days of work and Steve had his crew on site bright and early on day 1 and completed the work right on schedule. The roofing system installed was done in an excellent fashion and it looks great. I did have a couple issues with some flashing and some siding corners that were unavoidably damaged during the old roof removal but Steve's site foreman repaired or replaced the damaged items (I had a piece of the siding corner material on hand) without hesitation.
The crew was very friendly and courteous and was very careful to protect the plants surrounding the house from falling materials. They also did a very good job of cleanup after each day of the job which is extremely messy as you might expect. This was very important to us in that we have a dog who has free run of the yard around the house. Very little materials have been found around the house following the work which is amazing since we had some wind during the day.
The only issue that took a bit of time to resolve and was not BH's direct responsibility was our driveway suffered some damage when the shingles were delivered and lifted up onto the roof by the shingle supplier. They use a large truck with outrigger legs to stabilize the truck when lifting the shingles. Unfortunately one of the legs was positioned on a slope and the pad on the leg made an impression into our asphalt. The problem was noted on the completion report to BH and Steve followed up with the supplier to implement repairs even though this was not a problem caused by his crew. The supplier called me back immediately, came out the next day to view the damage then made arrangements to have it repaired. Very professional and no additional cost to me.
Last but not least, Steve's office staff has done an excellent job ensuring our satisfaction. Very professional, very good customer service which is an attribute I highly regard in a service supplier.
Work quality overall is excellent, we've already had some pretty good wind and rain since the work was done and the house has remained dry as a bone. Thank  you BH for a job well done!

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Most homes will sustain water damage without gutters. When a home doesn't have gutters, water that runs off the roof will splash down to the ground to create foundation damage, rotting trim, rotting fascia, and soil erosion. A broken or compromised gutter system can be just as damaging as having no gutters. That's why it's essential to talk to roofing pros about how to fix gutters pulling away from house as soon as you notice an issue.

The duration of a repair job can range from a few hours to several days. Simpler issues may take 1-4 hours, while more complex work or extensive damage could take 1-3 days. The final timeline depends on the complexity of the problem, the extent of the damage, and the location of the work.

It’s technically possible to remove some soffit material without removing your gutters, but it’s usually a good idea to remove gutters, fascia, and soffit and then reinstall them in the opposite order. Replacing soffits without removing gutters is likely to leave you with a less professional and clean appearance, and you’re more likely to do damage to your gutters and fascia boards in the process.

How you stop water from leaking between your gutters and fascia depends on the cause of the leak. Some leaks can be fixed simply by cleaning out clogged gutters or downspouts. Other leaks require you to seal holes or cracks in your gutters. Meanwhile, some leaks are a structural issue that requires replacing, changing, or adjusting your gutter system.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.
