"This was certainly one of the more challenging clogged drains. Lewis was fantastic. My 100+ year old house as usual threw all sorts of difficulties at him. "Rob called us immediately after we reached out to him to set up & schedule work on a backed up sewer. Michael came over with a camera and saw a broken pipe. Isaac came and repaired the broken pipe. Several signs can tip you off to a clogged dishwasher drain. Installing an actual drainpipe at the base of the well can also prevent window well drainage problems.

Anything from debris, rust, ice, and even poor installation can cause clogs in your plumbing vents. Some signs of a clog include slow drains, gurgling sounds in drains and toilets, and bad odors. The bad odors are the most concerning, as these can include methane and hydrogen sulfide. Contact a plumber to come take a look if you notice any of these signs.

If you want to avoid using a snake to unclog a drain, or if you don’t have one, try vinegar and baking soda. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 1 cup of white vinegar. Wait for 15 minutes, and then run hot water (but not boiling water) down the drain to see if the clog is clear. Repeat multiple times as needed.

As a general rule of thumb, it’s best to clean your linear drain every two to three months to prevent debris buildup. However, if you notice it draining slowly or an odor from your drainpipes, it’s best to clear the clogged drain and maintain it more often. If you let a clog go for too long, you may have to invest in the price of professional shower drain cleaning, which costs about $225.
