"I would rehire Exterior Pro for any remodeling needed. Professionalism is fantastic. Stephanie and Susan are the best office personnel I have worked with from any company. The knowledge the staff and contractors are great. They had previously finished a bathtub to shower remodel and was in and out in less time than expected and love it as well as my new windows. I would and will definitely recommend exterior pros to friends and relatives"

Customers say: Quality work

"Tony did an amazing job on my tile install for the bathroom I am renovating. I am an Interior Designer and have uses different tile masons. Tony is efficient, clean on the job, and is a problem solver which is great when you run into snafo's like a bowed wall. With some minor adjustments to the mortar he was able to make the wall look level event though it was not. I would definitely hire Tony again."

"Bobby is very professional , knowledgeable and patient. He explained the scope of the work to be done thoroughly. He also presented samples of the materials to be installed. I love my custom Bathtub. Bathroom redo was same day and workers picked up after themselves. Anneliese is always courteous and professional over the phone."

"Amazing experience start to finish. Received a very competitive price estimate to install a new bathroom fan and install three vents for all three bathroom fans. Promptly came and completed the work on schedule even though the weather looked somewhat questionable. Very friendly and professional Will definitely hire Ashcroft Electric in the future."

"We recently completed an extensive renovation of our 1960s ranch home, including the kitchen, dining room, living room, family room and hallway. We would not hesitate to recommend Candance & Design, LLC. Beginning with our first design meeting and ending with the last few items on the punch list, Candy and her team were professional, timely, and great to work with. Candy was able to transform our vision into reality, beginning with computer renderings which included her expert design ideas and recommendations. She was always open to any changes we wanted throughout the process. We were given a detailed timeline of when subcontractors would be working on various projects including demolition, carpentry, drywall, flooring, plumbing, cabinetry, masonry (fireplace) and painting. As with any big renovations, there are always a few hiccups along the way. An unexpected issue with one of the subcontractors was promptly and professionally resolved by Candy, who was always looking out for our best interest, making sure everything was to our complete satisfaction. Again, we are very happy to have selected Candance & Design, LLC for our remodeling project and are thoroughly enjoying the transformation of our home. Thank you again to Candy and her entire team who helped make this possible."

"I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service and everything was fine. All we did was get a room design and she did not come to our home. My husband went online and dealt with her that way. She sent us a plan for room design and suggested the colors, materials and stuff like that. She did it on her own and we only dealt with them one time."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.

Whether replacing a bathtub with a shower affects your home's value depends on several factors, with the most significant being whether it's the only tub in the house. Removing the sole bathtub can lower a home's value because many prospective buyers, particularly families with young children or pets, require at least one.

However, a tub-to-shower conversion can also increase home value. A modern walk-in shower is often seen as an upgrade in a secondary bathroom and can be a desirable feature for its accessibility and style, appealing to older homebuyers or those without children. The overall impact is also influenced by your local real estate market and its typical buyer demographic.

If your bathroom layout allows, installing both a freestanding bathtub and a separate shower can be an ideal solution that appeals to the widest range of potential buyers.

Professionals can enhance bathroom aesthetics by recommending and implementing design elements such as modern fixtures, high-quality tiles, and efficient layouts. They ensure cohesive style, compliment functionality, and an enhanced visual appeal in the space.

If your bathtub is in overall good shape with minor scratches, discoloration, or just general wear and tear, it's best (and less expensive) to refinish it.

If your tub has large cracks, is leaking, or is otherwise severely damaged, we recommend replacing it with a new bathtub. Refinishing a bathtub can only fix superficial problems, so these issues will still be present or reappear after a refinishing.

Installing a drop-in tub yourself is possible, especially if you’re replacing your existing tub with a new one of the same size. If you’re replacing a different type of tub, you’ll need to build the structure to hold the new drop-in tub and finish the exposed sides. The structure must be sturdy enough to hold the tub when it’s filled with water, and you’ll need to seal it. If any plumbing work is required, it’s best to call a licensed plumber who installs bathtubs.
