"Lifetime radon service did a great job of explaining the process of installing the remediation system as well as options we had to help control the costs of the project to within our budget. They were also flexible and allowed to replace the sump pump on our own prior to installation so that we were able to install the model of sump pump that we wanted."

"Joe Botters of Wautoma worked well, and diligently for several hours in order to encapsulate the Asbestos found in our root cellar and just outside the door to that "room" which was a horror. My apology for not being able to go into that room ahead of time to clean it up. Actually, after Joe completed the job and left I called on Terminix to clean-up the root cellar and really sorry I didn't think of doing that before. Joe shared information with me about Asbestos which gave me reasons to have around Asbestos, as well as confidence in his professional ability. Joe's estimate was reasonable and he charged exactly what he estimated, plus, Joe made an appreciated courteous follow-up call. Sincere Thanks for his service."

Small jobs welcome

"Great company to work with! The service was great from the beginning of the process to completion. It was easy to work with their scheduling of the project and their electronic payment system. I had lots of concerns about having the asbestos tiles removed from my basement and I had lots of questions. Harrison took the time to explain how the project would be handled, he was very patient with me in answering all my concerns so that I felt confidence in hiring EnviroGo. The crew doing the work showed up at the time they said they would and the technicians and supervisor were very personable and professional in explaining how they would prep the area to do the containment. I was happy with the respect they showed to my property and the finished work. I received the Air monitoring test results about 24 hours after the work was completed and all was good. I would hire EnviroGo again if I had another project that needed this type of work."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Yes, a refrigerant leak is extremely toxic and dangerous to breathe. Refrigerants can displace oxygen in a room, which can lead to suffocation, loss of consciousness, serious health issues, and even death. You may also suffer from refrigerant poisoning, which can cause symptoms like headaches, nausea, dizziness, swelling of the throat or sinuses, vision loss, and a burning sensation in your eyes, ears, nose, lips, and tongue. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately. In addition, refrigerant leaks are toxic to the environment and can cause permanent damage to the ozone layer.

Bleach is a biocide that can kill mold, but only on hard surfaces. You’ll need to replace ceiling tiles, insulation, rugs, and other porous surfaces instead.

Most homeowner’s insurance policies can help cover the cost of biohazard cleanings for specific events. Biohazard events like unattended death, infectious disease, and medical emergency are generally covered, as are flooring and drywall repairs. It’s best to check with your insurance company to see what is specifically covered.

Yes, mold in the basement of your home will affect the conditions upstairs. Mold spores can travel through the air and into the supply vents of your home’s ventilation system. It is extremely important to remove any mold in your basement as soon as possible so it doesn’t affect the health of those living in the house.

If you're wondering about black stains on brick at your home, the answer is that you're not looking at efflorescence. While efflorescence can be darker when certain types of salt are involved, black staining is caused by carbon staining, pollution from vehicles, and chimney soot. Black stains can also be caused by organic materials like lichen, algae, or mold.
