Small jobs welcome

"Great company to work with! The service was great from the beginning of the process to completion. It was easy to work with their scheduling of the project and their electronic payment system. I had lots of concerns about having the asbestos tiles removed from my basement and I had lots of questions. Harrison took the time to explain how the project would be handled, he was very patient with me in answering all my concerns so that I felt confidence in hiring EnviroGo. The crew doing the work showed up at the time they said they would and the technicians and supervisor were very personable and professional in explaining how they would prep the area to do the containment. I was happy with the respect they showed to my property and the finished work. I received the Air monitoring test results about 24 hours after the work was completed and all was good. I would hire EnviroGo again if I had another project that needed this type of work."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Black mold often smells musty, stale, or earthy, and some people liken its scent to that of sweaty clothing. While not everyone can identify the smell of mold, you are likely to smell it before you see it, as it usually is hidden in dark, damp areas; instead, the scent may pervade your entire home. If you smell mold, start by opening windows and looking for the source of the smell. If you find mold or are concerned about side effects, call a mold specialist right away, as it can be almost impossible to get rid of yourself.

No. When dry, mold enters a dormant state. While “sleeping,” the mold won’t multiply, but when it encounters moisture again, it springs back to life, releasing spores. That's why it's crucial to not only control humidity but also actively eliminate mold to prevent its resurgence and further growth inside your home.

PVC is not considered a hazardous waste in most areas, but regulations vary by location. If in doubt, you should contact your local sanitation department to confirm. The Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) has been working to get PVC classified as hazardous waste, so it’s possible that it will be considered as such in the near future. If it is, disposing of PVC will require the use of a hazardous waste disposal facility or transporter in your area.

Mold can be hazardous to your health. Some people are allergic to mold and experience a reaction when exposed to mold spores. The reaction varies from person-to-person, but can include a runny nose, skin irritation, and asthma attack. Mold can also be irritating to people who aren't allergic, causing respiratory, skin, and eye irritation. In some cases, mold exposure can lead to infections.

Black mold and wood rot are both types of fungi that thrive in damp areas, but they are distinct issues with different consequences. Wood rot specifically refers to the decay of wood caused by fungi, which compromises the wood's structural integrity. Black mold, on the other hand, is a fungus that grows on the surface of materials, including both rotting and non-rotting wood. The primary difference is their impact: wood rot affects the wood's structure, while toxic black mold is a health hazard. Inhaling black mold spores can cause severe respiratory issues, whereas wood rot spores are generally not harmful to people. Because mold can grow on rotting wood, the two issues can be interconnected, but they are not the same.
