"I hired Joel and his company to install an overhead hood in our kitchen. He ended up drilling an extra hole in the flange of the hood to attach it to the ceiling because he did not have enough wood to attach to the ceiling as a mounting point for the hood. The orientation of the hood was slightly tilted as a result. Furthermore, his people cut through 80% of one of the joists in the ceiling to route the ducting to go outside and did not reinforce the joist afterwards. When I pointed out these issues, he asked me for an additional $310 to the $1210 I already paid for the service to rectify these problems his team caused. I refused and decided to have another contractor do the job correctly. Absolutely do not recommend."

How long a wood fence lasts depends on the type of wood and its style. As a result, you won’t have to worry as much about sagging or failing pickets. However, remember that the hollow design of a shadow box fence makes it more difficult to apply the sealer, which is crucial to extending its life.

Pickets should sit at least 2 inches off the ground to encourage groundwater to flow underneath. Pickets can sit as much as 6 inches off the ground, but setting it any higher could let pets in or out of your yard unintentionally. These are not to be confused with the fence posts anchored underground with soil or concrete footing.
