"We have been working with Switch Electric on various projects in our home since 2018. They installed our solar panels, our backup battery and have worked on electrical projects. Switch Electric is our go-to electrical company and we will continue using them in the future. It’s easy to get appointments, communication is great, and the people are wonderful."

"The association of value, veracity, experience and superior customer reviews combine to make Joe?s Yard Service one of the best in Yakima. Previous customer reviews influenced my decision to hire Joe and his staff for the tasks described below.
Task 1 ? Large tree trimming and overgrowth removal
Joe?s crew removed or cut back some very large limbs and overgrowth from two large trees (approximately 60-75 feet high), a difficult, dangerous task that required climbing each large tree.  He also trimmed 10-20 feet from some overgrown arborvitae along a 100+ foot section along my back fence that had invaded power and telephone lines.
His staff: experienced, quick and efficient.   His crew of 5 had to identify changing dangerous conditions due to the height, size of the limbs removed and the presence electrical supply and telephone wires.    One climbed each tree, another controlled the
large limb removal as they were cut, hoisted and lowered to the ground for removal by his ground crew.  His ground
crew hand carried all the small branches out of the backyard, cleaned the surface below and shaped or blended the existing ornamental bushes.   They cut and neatly stacked the large limbs for firewood.
Bid Estimate - $2800.00 including tax and 3 days to complete, equitable, or less, when compared to other bids.
Customer Satisfaction ?   A+.  They completed the job in 2.5 days with instructions to his staff to complete
the job to the customer?s satisfaction.
Task 2 ? Landscape mature plantings of rhododendrons
Joe brought in one of his staff experienced in construction of retaining walls and landscaping.  He suggested large block to assist drainage and prevent erosion which was more expensive but less labor intensive.  Each block and the crushed gravel had to be hand carried from the front to the back of my home.
His staff removed the old bender board  and laid out the design for the existing  space.  They laid the base course of block on crushed gravel; blocks were cut to fit and the base leveled .  They added successive courses and back filled each with crushed gravel careful to preserve the existing underground sprinkler system.
Bid Estimate - $2800.00 including tax and 1.5 days to complete.
Actual Cost - $3265 ? The job required that I purchase an additional $465.00 in material, a necessary cost due to material  loss when blocks were cut , additional gravel, placement of additional courses of block and steps that added to the overall symmetry of the space.
Customer Satisfaction  ?  A+.   They completed the task in a week because they had to obtain additional
material and meet previous commitments.  They provided the procurement and placement of additional material
without additional charges for labor.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Tri Cities homeowners are prioritizing solar panel installations, EV charging stations, and smart home upgrades, reflecting the region’s sunny climate and growing demand for energy efficiency. Upgrading to 200-amp electrical panels is common in older homes. Whole-house surge protection, outdoor kitchen wiring, and weather-resistant outlets for patios are increasingly popular, along with modern touches like USB outlets and under-cabinet LED lighting.

Helpful?

If your Tri Cities home was built before 1980 or you notice frequent breaker trips, dimming lights, warm outlets, or unusual odors, it’s time to consider electrical upgrades. Before summer, check your system’s capacity for increased A/C use. After wind storms, inspect outdoor connections for damage, and before winter, confirm that exterior outlets and covers are secure to handle Tri Cities’ seasonal weather changes.

Helpful?

In Tri Cities, allowing dust and debris to collect in outlets or panels, overloading older circuits, and ignoring flickering lights can all reduce your electrical system’s lifespan. Skipping outdoor maintenance after wind storms or heavy irrigation can expose wiring to moisture. Attempting unauthorized DIY electrical work or neglecting to reset tripped breakers properly may also lead to long-term electrical safety issues.

Helpful?

Upgrading electrical systems in Tri Cities can enhance your home’s value and attract buyers looking for modern features. Panel upgrades, solar installations, and EV charging capabilities are especially appealing due to the area’s climate and lifestyle. Whole-house surge protection, updated outdoor outlets, and smart home wiring also boost resale appeal, aligning with local preferences for energy efficiency and outdoor living spaces.

Helpful?

After finishing electrical work in Tri Cities, schedule all required inspections to confirm code compliance. Store permits, inspection reports, and contractor warranties together for easy access. Clearly update your electrical panel labels and any home diagrams. Test GFCI outlets regularly, especially after seasonal wind storms. For ongoing electrical safety, consider annual system checks and replace surge protectors every few years due to the area’s frequent power fluctuations.
