"The company's field repr. (whose name unfortunately I have forgotten) met me at the property on time and prepared. He gave me about an hour of his time and expertise for NO Charge - during which he viewed the problems with my mobile home and attached, unpermitted deck (a slow slipping and separating between the home and the deck.) He explained his company's policies and procedures, including the advisement that we'd want to hire an independent structural engineer to perform a thorough analysis of the loads and existing (substandard) bracing and supports, and render an opinion and a "prescription" for Terra Firma to work against as to components required to cure the problems. It all seemed very logical, well-thought-out and professional. It turned out that my wife and I decided the scope of the work required and the time to accomplish it went beyond our time frame to secure a habitable dwelling so we went no farther. "Fantastic. The majority of work was done in 3 days. Unbelievable!!! The plumbing under the house was a really tight squeeze and it was done to perfection. He had to come back twice for the dishwasher because the door wouldn't close. It turned out to be a manufacturer's defect and had nothing to do with him. Great customer service.
When I bought the house, a plumbing nightmare was discovered. Mismatched pipes under the house  with a heat lamp (surprise!) Of course there was no indication of possible plumbing problems from the prior owner. If we hadn't inspected under the house, we would have had a nightmare in the winter. The shower plumbing sprayed water out the backside into a closet. The washer hook up did not have appropriate venting and the dryer vent went into the floor and under the house through nothing but a tinfoil dryer vent. The barn pipes leaked and one had burst during the period of time the house was empty.
I had 3 bids on this job. One was $10,000 with caveats about possible extra charges. One was $6500 with caveats about extra charges. JM Plumbing said both those bids were too high and he would be more than happy to do it for $6200.
