Both Norman & Sharon know there business inside & out and made suggestions that I would have never thought of. I'd never redone a kitchen before.
They had a sampling of granite at their store but sent me down to their granite supplier to pick out what I wanted. My selection was marked and held for me for 3 weeks until I closed on my home and could get Norman in to do a template. I had him measure the bathroom while he was at in just in case.
After making a few modifications on what I wanted I was provided with a invoice for $3,800 to do both the kitchen and the bathroom. I expected the bill to be at least that much for just the kitchen. I also changed out the profile of my kitchen counters by adding a slide in range. That meant the counter could be in 2 pieces rather than one which was a cost savings.
It took a week to fabricate my countertops and the installers showed up on time. The kitchen took longer to install because I was using an under-mount sink. My sink was bigger than the cabinet and they asked permission to trim it out. They could have done that without asking but they were very conscientious of what I wanted. I did my best to stay out of there way but a couple times I asked about things that didn't seem right and they assured me they were still in the process of making adjustments and there wouldn't be an issue with them. True to their word the end product is amazing!
The bathroom was simpler because I chose a drop in sink. They cut the sink opening on site and the bathroom was done in what seemed like minutes. After both counters were installed they were cleaned, repeatedly, and sealed twice. In between each sealing there was a 40 minute wait time in which they explained to me how to care for my new countetops.
When they were done they left me a couple of good size pieces. One I used to search for backsplash. The other is large enough to use as a tabletop between my patio chairs.
I think I appreciated Sharon, Norman & the installers' patients with my questions and my ever changing schedule. They were all nice people, with a sense of humor, and a commitment to doing the best work. My countertops are beautiful and I'm thrilled with the service Budget Granite Countertops folks provided.
It was ready on the date agreed upon, staff very helpful.
I would definitely use again. Only hesitation would be limited selection of granite to choose from.
They also did a bathroom going along with my design idea of hanging the cherry cabinets in the new modern fashion. They helped me find a wonderful stone remanent and sink and then modified it for our needs from their bone yard. Also in a small bathroom they built a tall bathroom cabinet with unique storage options on both sides that gives some privacy to the toilet area.
A great place for granite and cabinets and my second time using them on a remodel. I'll come back again.
When we came to Budget Granite Countertops (BGC) we had pretty much reach the end of our researched options. I wasn't expecting much but when we spoke with Norman and found out they make vanities and they do it on site and it would only take a couple of weeks we were sold. Norman showed us the options (we selected Shaker style, alderwood and stain #17). We saw they had true plywood construction and the cabinets were WELL BUILT. We got specialized cabinet with 6 drawers at 42" in width--almost no one will make this style due to the width of the drawers. It was custom made to fit our oval sink too--just right. The price for this was $735. As for Granite, we would select a remnant the right size (we selected 2cm, tropical green) and that would add $300 to the cost and include all the cutting--we just need to provide a template and the sink. SOLD.
We worked with Norman and Sharon when Norman wasn't around during our various visits: drop off sink and HW, pick up cabinet, return with template, pick up granite, etc. We had them build two cabinets for us and would DEFINITELY use them again. They were very quick, patient and responded to our e-mails. They also were able to quickly provide us with the granite after delivering a template (2-3 days). We used them over Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and both times they were able to deliver on time despite the holidays.
If you need something customer we can highly recommend going to BGC and speaking with Norman and Sharon.
Overall we really enjoyed working with everyone at Budget Granite and are really happy with the results of their work.
They asked if we could move our dishwasher from the left side to the right side of the kitchen, and move our stove over to the left by two inches. We said sure, and because of that we were able to put a lazy susan in the corner. Our old kitchen had 18 inches of filler and dead space that was not useable, by making the changes they suggested we know have only 1 inch of filler by our dishwasher! they also suggested to take our cabinets up to the ceiling this would give us another 6 inches of space. It is amazing on how much more space we have in the kitchen. The best part was when they came up with solution to a wall right outside of our kitchen in the family room that was wasted space based on the angle of the wall. They were able to build floor to ceilings cabinets that now are used for storage and no wasted space.
With the new cabinets we also had granite counter tops in the kitchen. It is amazing on how the kitchen looks so up to date, and custom compared to what it was. All the cabinets are built to the specifications of the kitchen, these are not out of the box you can buy at the big box stores, or even other cabinet shops.
We took out our old cabinets to save money, and when the crew came in they did a great job in caring about the install, and made sure every detail was taken care of. They did not leave any mess behind, they cleaned up after all work was completed. We even had custom cabinet made for our half bath.
This entire make over was less than $7500 the quality, and service was amazing. We are very happy with them, and working with Brian, John, Norman, and Sharon was a pleasure!
