Small jobs welcome

"All the folks at Black Bear Spa from Ann that set up the appointment and did follow-up to Tyree and Will that did the work ... they are just great. All indications were I needed a new pressure switch and a follow-up visit but just to be thorough we drained the spa and Tyree and Will went over everything. Turns out there was a little piece of cloth in the pump. They removed that and with everything else checked out we refilled and it started up and worked perfectly. Professional, knowledgeable, efficient, courteous, friendly. And they got the job done. What more can you ask for? I highly recommend them."

"It was a good experience! Communication, pricing, and a high quality of work! they are kind of a smaller company, so I felt it was more personable to not have to speak with a different person every time."

"I needed to get a hole drilled for a instant hot water dispenser and a nickel sized chip fixed and had been procrastinating for months... what company would want to come out and do such a small task? I reviewed angieslist and found Puget Sound Stone Repair and put a call into them. Todd called back and offered to come out a few days later on a Saturday to do the repair and drill the hole at a rate of $150 per hour. He felt it wouldn't take much longer than an hour (which it didn't). Communication was good, he was running a bit late but called to tell me which was great. The repair looks fantastic... if you didn't know it was there you wouldn't even see it and I am enjoying the hot water (and chilled water) dispenser installed in the 1.5" hole he drilled. Overall very satisfied and would use Puget Sound Stone Repair again in the future."

You should put chlorine in your hot tub on a regular basis. To keep bacteria away, keep the chlorine level in your hot tub at between 3-5 mg/l, which may mean you need to add chlorine daily or at least every two to three days. Don’t add chlorine to your hot tub water more than once per day.

Vinegar can be used as an all-purpose cleaner for many things, including hot tub filters. Soaking hot tub filters in vinegar and water for up to 24 hours can remove dirt and oil, and as a bonus, it won’t cause the water to foam after you reinstall it if there’s vinegar left on it. But make sure you still rinse it to remove any debris, dirt, or grime stuck on it.

In most cases, it is safe to clean a hot tub with vinegar. You will want to verify that your hot tub manufacturer lists vinegar as a safe cleaning product; however, given that vinegar is chemical-free, cleans, deodorizes, and is safe for people and pets, it is usually a good option. You can use vinegar to clean the hot tub shell, interior and exterior spa surfaces, hot tub jets, hot tub filter, and other parts. It is considered a strong, safe, and natural cleanser that can kill bacteria, remove mold and mildew spores, erase water spots, and remove hard water stains.

How often you change the water in your swim spa depends on how often you use it. Most manufacturers recommend changing the water every three to six months. If you use your swim spa throughout the seasons, it’s a good idea to set up a quarterly deep cleaning schedule. The ideal instructions should be in the owner’s manual.

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.
