Great job by Alan and Justin. Our door buckled after we had a garage door opener installed (not by Parker). They replaced the panels, realigned the tracks and adjusted the springs, taking great care to make sure all was running smoothly and quietly. Fast service, quality work and a good...

The sales representative, at the Kent office, showed me different examples of the doors that could be provided. Based on my desire to have the least expensive doors, the Wayne Dalton model 9100 was recommended and agreed upon. I did add windows with a grid to each door. I did not have to...

Three men arrive on time and discussed color options with me. We chose a medium brown that coordinated with alder doors in adjacent rooms. They scraped, sanded and smoothed the door, which has two full length windows along side the door, and then applied 3 layers of the stain and covering...

They arrived as scheduled and discussed the job with me to make sure we had the right number of windows for the estimate. They got to work and did a very good job. H2O is a husband/wife team that work together inside/outside and are very efficient in getting the job done. The old aluminum...

Work was done quickly and professionally. The only thing that would have made the experience better would have been to have the replacement window work and replacement glass work done all on the same day. We had to make two appointments because the replacement glass was not ready when the...

Alan, owner of Special T Window Films, installed Vista solar control film on most of the windows in our home. Most of the windows in our home are south and west facing which means we get a lot of sun, heat, and UV rays coming through the glass and into the home. This will not only fade...

Eric and his helpers did an excellent job cleaning all my many windows, including skylights and front door! I was very pleased with the outcome. I have invite him to come over twice per year to do the same job again!

If the descriptor "Outstanding" was available on the "Ratings List", I would used it to describe the end product of Highline Construction's work. "We pay close attention to the details" could easily be adopted by Trevor for his company's motto. He prides himself in using the best of the...

"As the GC for my own full home renovation, I was looking for a turn-key company that I could outsource and trust to handle the exterior work for my house (new house wrap, siding, and window/door installation). I was really optimistic about this company because they were a Hardie-certified installer. I hired them to install about 30 top-of-the-line Andersen windows, several exterior doors, and install all new Hardie siding and trim. Unfortunately things went south on day 1 and continued to spiral out of control. In a nutshell, I had three different project managers assigned to me throughout the project, and neither of them came on site once the project started (until the very end, and the last project manager was awesome... kuddos to him!). The first crew that came on board were subcontractors, not Evergreen employees. When they started to install my windows, I knew immediately that they did not know how to properly flash a window sill (they had gaps in the Vycor flashing, didn't wrap the sill properly, etc. etc.). I called this to the PM's attention but nothing was done. The crew installed all windows in one day, not properly flashed. Crew was retrained and came back to "fix" them, but still didn't properly flash them. Meanwhile, they were taping the seams on our house wrap in the rain, when the house wrap was wet, so nothing stuck and had to be redone. Fortunately this crew was let go and I was told they were going to bring their "in-house" crew to finish. The next crew was awesome and they ended up removing all windows and reinstalling them. In total, each window was installed three times! As a result, some of the nail flanges and seals were broken. I called this out to the PM and owner of the company but did not get a response. From this point on, the crew that stayed on did a good job and was pleasant to work with (but I found out they were also subcontractors, not "in-house" employees as I was told up front). The delivery of a few windows and doors were delayed by about three months, which was my responsibility. I told all project managers about this upfront, including the first project manager before the project started. He said it was okay and that we could start the project and hold back a specific percentage amount of the project payment until they arrived so they could return to complete it at a later time. He and I agreed and the project moved forward. When the owner of the company, Jon Jordan, found out about the window/door delays, he was irate. His brother/GM and PM (who were both very polite and professional) called me and tried to negotiate a higher partial payment percentage rate which was absolutely frustrating to me. I explained to them that I had suffered for months through the project with extreme errors and redos, which caused mental angst, and that we had already agreed on a percentage on day one. Nonetheless, I was willing to increase the partial payment a little bit just to wrap things up. The owner followed up that evening by texting me in an aggressive, threatening tone. He said my only options were to allow them to finish the project immediately (which was impossible because we didn't have the remaining windows or doors), or pay them in full immediately and they would return after the doors/windows arrived a few months later. Otherwise he would sue me and put a lien on my home. He and I hadn't even spoken prior to that, and it was shocking to get such an aggressive text from a guy who never even heard my side of the story… I proposed to the owner that we cease the contract immediately, and that I would pay them for all work completed at that point. We agreed on how much work was remaining, and removed that amount from the contract price. We cancelled the contract, he had his remaining materials picked up and that was that. Again, I was hopeful for this company and wanted to have a great experience, but due to the poor project management experience, inexperienced subcontractors who caused damage and significant delays, and a sue-happy, angry owner who lacked professionalism and compassion, I could never re-consider hiring, let alone recommend, this company for any type of contracting work."

"Ean Emery is absolutely a handyman you can trust to get each task done correctly and in a stright-forward timely manner. We had several tasks, critical to getting ready for winter: Sealing the skylights, replacing an exterior faucet (which required going into the cramped crawl-space under the house), and securing a down-spout that had detached. His prices are reasonable and Ean communicates very well. We have been making a list for other tasks to maintain our home. My son is a contractor/architect, who lives in Santa Monica, Ca. He was very impressed with the work Ean has done. Thank you Emerybuilders, Llc! "

FAQs for window and door contracting projects in Nooksack, WA
Door installation usually takes three and four hours, including removing the old door and frame, fitting the new door and frame in place, shimming it to make sure it’s perfectly level, and making adjustments to the hinges and locking mechanisms to ensure proper functionality. A door-hanging professional can replace an interior door in between one and two hours. Door installation will take significantly longer if your installer needs to create a wall opening, and it can take less time if the existing door frame remains.
If you have a problem with your window, such as broken glass, minor leaks, or a problem with your window being stuck, repairing the broken part might be a cheaper option than replacing the entire window. However, if you have a deteriorating window frame or major leaks, buying a new window will be the better long-term solution.
The average cost to install a door is around $1,100, but you could pay anywhere from $150 for a hollow-core interior door installation up to $2,000 or a high-end exterior door installation. There are a few cost factors to consider to get an accurate price, including whether your wall opening exists, the type of door, the quality and security of the door, whether you need to replace the frame, and the door size. You can expect to pay $150 to $700 for a standard 36-by-80-inch door and between $400 and $1,600 for an 80-by-48-inch door.
Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.
It’s possible to install a door yourself if the wall opening already exists, but the work is rather complicated, and a professional installation is usually well worth the investment. For your door to work and close properly, you’ll need to shim and level the door frame in your wall perfectly, which can be difficult. Additionally, we recommend you always hire a professional door installer to place an exterior door, as mistakes during the installation process can lead to poor security for your home.
