"Oniver and his crew were one of the most efficient roofing crews I’ve ever witnessed. They did a tear off and replacement that included 14 sheets of new 1/2” plywood in just two days. They cleaned up each day and even ran a magnet over my yard to collect roofing nails. His crew was friendly and always smiling even on a very hot day. Oniver came out and checked on the work and returned the following day to address any concerns. I appreciate their reasonable bid and accommodating my schedule during a very busy roofing season. Daniela was always responsive to my emails within a day and even drove to my house to pick up the payment. I will recommend MT Roofing Service to my friends ."

"The owner actually went onto our roof before giving us a quote, the other quotes were from companies who just drove by, so our quote reflected the actual work and materials needed, not just a guesstimate. The crew was great, they got the job done quickly, were courteous and cleaned up all of the debris."

"Excellent, professional. Online quote with abundance of information. 5-year guarantee (no one else offered this)! Follows roofing manufacturers association’s maintenance recommendations. Even many roofers don’t do this, and won’t explain why! They were very open with process, solutions used, rationale, etc. Good price."

"Spoke with Sean to get an idea on what he would do to clean the roof. I voiced my concerns that there were signs of improper cleaning and he assured me the work they were doing was safe and that they would not damage my roof any further. They got all of the moss off of my roof- they did exactly what they said they would do. Would use again."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

If you’re choosing between a roof overlay and a tear-off, opt for a tear-off and full roof replacement instead of a roof overlay if possible. The cost savings from an overlay can easily be eclipsed by repair costs, the effects of structural damage from the additional weight, and needing to replace your roof sooner than expected. A full replacement will last longer and is less likely to need damage repaired over time.

In most cases, no, roofers won’t need to come inside. Some reasons roofers may need to come inside are to assess ventilation. inspect roof leaks, or check for any structural concerns.

The average cost to winterize a house is about $250, but it can range from $65 to $1,000 depending on the type of work that needs to be done. For homeowners that are experienced DIYers, it can save quite a bit on costs. However, you shouldn’t attempt tasks you aren’t familiar with or are potentially dangerous.

A new roof may improve insulation and ventilation problems that can lead to ice dams, but it’s not a solution for preventing them. All roofs are susceptible to the conditions that cause ice dams, so it’s best to invest your money into insulation and gutter management solutions rather than a new roof if you don’t need a replacement yet.

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams, but the best thing to do is address insulation issues in your attic. If you do decide to remove the snow manually, you should always use a roof rake rather than a shovel. You shouldn’t climb your snowy roof in any circumstance, and roof rake allows you to remove the snow from the ground or a ladder. For the best results, remove snow as soon as possible after it falls.
