"I hired Isaac to repair a window leak. They estimated it would cost $1,626.19 if I did the mudding and painting of the sheetrock inside. When Chad came out (not Isaac), he found that the window flashing was incorrectly installed and decided that they didn't need to take off any more boards. So instead of about 15 boards, they replaced 2. He ended up charging me $220.50 less than his estimate because of this. After Chad left, I found two of my garden lights broken where he had done the work. I texted Isaac photos, but he said he didn't have before photos and said Chad didn't break them. This is unlikely, and I was surprised that he didn't just offer to replace or make good in some way considering they were fairly inexpensive. Unfortunately, about two weeks after the repair, the leak reappeared. I contacted Isaac via text and told him the leak had reappeared (after I had finished repairing the drywall, unfortunately). He replied, "The only option is to rip open the wall and leave it open until the spot where the water is coming in can be located. For all I know, there is a hole in the roof, and it is leaking in from there." I felt this reply wasn't an offer to help or do the right thing, especially when he was defensive about my lights being damaged and left it at that. In the intervening two years, I had the roof replaced, but the leak still occurred, so I hired someone else to look at it. They found that where Chad had installed Vycor, water had pooled behind. Fundamentally, the issue was above the two boards they replaced, and they should have checked since that was what the original estimate was for. I texted Isaac my findings and asked for a refund. He was very defensive, saying, "I need to see pictures". I sent him pictures, and he said he had installed the Vycor correctly. He said he didn't remove the siding. I told him he did. He said I didn't authorize removing all the siding. I told him I had a bid from him for replacing all the siding. He said I should have called him. I said I texted him. He said I didn't (I still have the texts). He then told me to have a nice day. At that point, I told him I would leave him this review, and he tried calling me. I chose not to answer and texted him, saying I didn't want to argue on the phone and that he'd had his chance to make things right."
