Customers say: True professional

"I hired Hector to replace part of the drywall in the kitchen that we had to remove because it had been tiled over. He also fixed a large hole in the living room where there was some damage. He was punctual, professional, and thorough. The final product looked amazing. He did such a good job. He blended the texturing so well, you couldn't tell where the new drywall ended and the old drywall began! See photos for part of the kitchen section, before and after."

"I had an excellent experience with this drywall company from start to finish. They were professional, punctual, and did outstanding work. The quality of the drywall installation and finishing was flawless ? smooth seams, clean edges, and great attention to detail. They kept the work area clean, communicated clearly throughout the process, and completed everything on time. It?s hard to find contractors who take this much pride in their work. I highly recommend them and would absolutely use them again!"

"Andrey was great to work with and the crew was wonderful. Rick, the lead field guy, was great! We had a few areas in need of some drywall patching and repair and it looks great. They did our whole upstairs and even did a nice job texturing the ceiling when the asbestos popcorn ceiling was removed."

"We hired Fast Patch Drywall Repair to completely remodel a small bathroom in our home, and the results were excellent. The entire bathroom was demolished and rebuilt, including installation of a new tub, toilet, sink, mirror, and glass door. The drywall work was especially impressive—brand new sheets were installed, taped, mudded, sanded, and painted, and the finish came out smooth and professional. Everything was done carefully and cleanly, and the project was completed on time. What stood out most was the attention to detail and the pride taken in the work. We’re very happy with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend them."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

While you can put new drywall over old drywall, it’s not always the best option. In some cases, drywalling over drywall can make it harder to find wires and pipes behind your walls and conceal more serious problems with your walls. It can also make the room smaller. On the plus side, putting drywall over drywall can improve soundproofing and insulation. Plus, it’s often less expensive than tearing down and adding new drywall.

If you only have tiny holes in your drywall (for example, dents or nail marks), you probably won’t need a patch kit. Instead, you can plug the hole with a small amount of spackle. Once the spackle dries, you can sand the area and paint over it—just like you would in the steps outlined above.

A 50-pound mirror can be hung on drywall, but only if it has the support of strong hardware. Ideally, you can find the studs behind the drywall and attach the mirror to them; this will give your mirror better stability. Otherwise, confirm that you are using anchors appropriate to the weight of the mirrors. Another technique is to use French cleats—two pieces of wood that fit together, with one piece attached to the wall and the other to the mirror. This allows the weight to be distributed over a wider area.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.
