From start to finish, the entire process was seamless and incredibly positive. The quality of their work is truly excellent. Our house has been completely transformed, and the craftsmanship is evident in every detail. Beyond the exceptional work, what truly set Compass Contractors apart was their outstanding communication. We were kept informed every step of the way, which made the entire project stress-free. A huge shout-out to Derek and Matt, who were an absolute pleasure to deal with. "I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

The maximum size of a tiny home you can move depends on your state transportation guidelines, but the rule of thumb is a maximum of 400 square feet. However, as long as it falls within the local limits for traveling on public roadways, you should be good to hit the road.

If you’re building a pole barn in place of a traditional home, lenders usually don’t offer traditional mortgages for these structures. You can also expect higher insulation costs and building permits may not be allowed in your area. Even if you’re just using a pole barn as storage or as a shelter for animals, these structures are less durable than steel buildings and require more maintenance.

A simple A-frame chicken coop can take as little as three hours to build, but a more substantial all-in-one coop to house a large flock can take four or five days to build. Consult a local handyperson or custom coop builder for a time estimate based on the specific details of your project.

Barns and barndominiums are most commonly painted red, like barns depicted in movies and paintings. The practice of painting barns red dates back to America’s colonial days, when new farmers would borrow the European practice of mixing linseed oil with ferrous oxide to coat the barns in order to protect them from the elements, leaving the structures with a red color.

In the U.S., original and converted carriage houses are most often found in New England, New York, and other parts of the Northeast. New construction carriage houses can be found across the country, and are often added to properties with Colonial-style homes for additional living, storage, or work space, although they can be found in many different styles.
