"We had a fantastic experience working with Westerlund Tree Service. From start to finish the owners and crews were professional, efficient and prompt. We had a large pine, fir and several large maples removed. They meticulously cleaned up after they were done and were very conscientious about not causing any damage to our driveway and surrounding areas as they brought in large equipment and trucks. Additionally they helped us negotiate the dreaded permitting process that was required in our area. We would absolutely work with Westerlund again and recommend them highly."

"Womer's Tree Service was awesome!!! Very friendly and professional. They safely removed two hazardous trees close to my house and cleaned up the mess for a lot less than the competition quoted. I definitely recommend Sam and his crew for all kinds of tree service."

"Professional, polite... Showed up at my house, looked at the tree, gave me an estimate that didn't break the bank (unlike the other companies that contacted me)... Had a 25' maple tree that didn't survive the long, hot summer last year. About 1/4 of the tree had buds this year and the rest of the branches were snapping off in the wind. Pablo showed up and within an hour, they were done. Not a tree branch left in the backyard. Took care when cutting that nothing fell on the the rhodies surrounding the tree. Took all the branches out front and put them through a woodchipper. Not a speck of sawdust anywhere. I will definitely call him again when I need a tree trimmed/removed."

"We recently had a brand-new sprinkler system installed, and the results are fantastic. The crew was professional, hardworking, and completed the installation efficiently. Everything was laid out perfectly, and the system covers the entire yard evenly. They took the time to explain how everything works and answered all of our questions. Our lawn has never looked better, and we are very happy with the quality of the work. Highly recommend"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Whether you grind or dig up and remove your tree stump depends on your landscaping goals. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.

Generally, you do not have the right to take fruit from a neighbor's tree, even if the branches overhang your property. The fruit is considered the property of the tree's owner. While you may have the right to trim branches that cross into your yard, the fruit on them typically still belongs to your neighbor. However, laws can vary by state and municipality. In some areas, branches that extend into your yard or trees that straddle a property line may entitle you to some of the fruit. The best course of action is to speak with your neighbor, as they may be happy to share. If a conversation is not possible, check your local regulations before picking any fruit.

Any tree that needs to be pruned should be pruned to remove dead branches at least once a year. You may need to prune far more often if you’re trying to maintain a certain shape or to save a tree that suddenly becomes infected.

An unsafe tree can cause serious damage to your home and property, so tree inspections are important to ensure your home isn’t in danger from a nearby tree. Unhealthy trees can also be unsafe trees, as diseases and insect damage can compromise a tree’s stability, leading to potential damage and safety risks.

If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. However, effective transplanting requires six months, careful root pruning, safe transport to the new location, and replanting in prime soil conditions. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.
