"I should have called The Tree Brothers years ago. I thought the job (taking down 9 trees near buildings on the property) would be complicated and leave a mess. When Adam came to offer a very reasonable quote he assured me that he had the tools and knowledge to get the job done. He was professional from quote to finishing the job. I’ll be recommending The Tree Brothers to my neighbors and will reach out for the next phase later this year."

"I called Kody up on a Wednesday morning at 6 am I had a tree fall and hit my car and pop up camper, my house is on the way to one of his job him and his crew showed up and had the tree moved and my driveway cleared in an 1 1/2 hours. I asked Kody about any other trees that may cause future issues and they have me on the schedule for early next week. They are all super friendly and very knowledgeable and professional, I would refer them to anyone."

"Ryan was incredibly helpful and did a wonderful job pruning and clearing out some of my broken branches and dead trees. I would absolutely hire from here again. Very happy with my service!"

The old pine could no longer fend off the beetles. 2021 was a hot, dry summer and unfortunately many trees were lost. The fall zone for this large tree was tight, but with some careful preparations and precautions, the tree was successfully felled with no collateral damage.

"Sure Cut Tree Service was excellent in every way. I received a fair bid, and the project started the next day. Communication by phone, text, and email was timely and appropriate. The work was completed on time and exceeded my expectations. As part of the project, Sure Cut removed three mature ponderosa pines close to power lines and my neighbor's home. My neighbor was also pleased with their professionalism and friendliness! Well done, Nick."

"Adam and his crew do amazing work. I was able to get a project quote promptly and communication from the start was great. My project quote was competitively priced and Adam was able to offer insight and options to meet my needs. They took down several trees and brush and I was very happy with the end product, clean up, and care they showed my lawn. I plan to utilize them for every tree service I need in the future."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Permits are often required for large tree removals, especially in urban areas or for protected species, ensuring regulation compliance and neighbor safety.

If you want to take your tree-planting hobby beyond your outdoor space, here are a few great ways to do it:

  • Encourage your neighbors to participate in the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA program, which has a four-step framework that helps communities grow and maintain their own tree cover.

  • Support businesses that plant trees.

  • Lobby your local government to plant more trees around your community.

  • Donate to a tree-planting charity.

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

The typical lifespan of a Bradford pear is relatively short, only 15 to 25 years. However, these trees have issues long before their life is over. Due to their soft wood and fast-growing branches, Bradford pear trees often split around 15 years, making them a risk for falling branches and more prone to disease.

The fastest ways to remove a tree stump are by grinding it or burning it.

Stump grinding is often the quickest method, with professionals able to chip away a stump and its roots within a single session. You have the option to hire a professional stump removal service or rent a stump grinder to do it yourself. However, it's important to note that these machines can be large, difficult to transport, and dangerous to operate without prior experience. For safety reasons, hiring a local arborist or landscape specialist is often recommended.

Burning is another fast option. Before you begin, check your local burn laws. The process involves drilling holes into the stump, filling them with vegetable oil, and waiting 24 to 48 hours. Afterward, you can add charcoal bricks to the surface and light the fire, which must be attended at all times.

For a more affordable but much slower alternative, you can use potassium nitrate pellets to accelerate the natural decomposition process. This method typically takes four to six months.
