"Alex was right on time every time that we made an arrangement. He kept in touch by text very efficiently. He did the job very well and stayed at my house until the job was finished, about 6pm at night. He gave me a set price and did not charge by the hour. He cleaned up well after painting."

Small jobs welcome

"Work was very well done. Communication was top notch! Remodeled and added a shower to the downstairs bathroom, built a barn door for my pantry, installed new doors throughout my home, repaired flooring and added a closet out in the garage."

"We were very impressed. Worked a week solid before taking a day off because of rain. Pressure washed the roof and house, Scraped all windows then calked and covered them. Built steps to the back yard. Removed our sliding door and put in the french doors. Was not an easy swap out like I had been told it would be french door was wider and higher.. (Love the doors, they look great). BMV is very thorough and dependable. Working with BMV on future projects."

"They did a real good job. They were real professional. We can now open the garage door from the inside of the house and now it is so smooth that we have to check to see if we hit the button to open it or close it.  Before we used to know when it was opening or closing because it used to make a noise. It helps when you move to a city where you are new. "

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost your home's value, especially if you are replacing old or dated flooring. Adding a new tile floor can deliver a return on investment (ROI) of around 56.4%, with some projects offering up to 100% ROI. Buyers appreciate new tile because it provides a modern look and is known for being durable, water-resistant, low-maintenance, and easy to clean. For the best results and highest return, consider hiring a professional, as tiling mistakes can be very noticeable and detract from the value.

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

It’s important to leave a gap in the corner when tiling to allow room for tile expansion. Leaving between one eighth of an inch to one tenth of an inch is enough space.

Ideally, you should remove tile before installing hardwood floors, but there are good reasons not to. Removing stubborn tile can be a labor-intensive job that adds days to the project. The subfloor beneath the tiles could also be damaged during the process, meaning you’d have to repair the subfloor before installing the new hardwood floor.

If you’re handling your tile removal yourself, seal the room using painter’s tape and heavy-duty contractor bags to prevent dust and shards from escaping. Use a claw hammer or a pry bar and a mallet to get behind the tile and pry it away from the floor or wall. Once your tiles are all removed, sweep everything into contractor bags for disposal, being careful not to overfill them. Make sure you wear a dust mask, safety goggles, and work gloves to keep yourself safe from injury while you work.
