The workers drove nearly 60 miles to my place, appeared precisely on time, did careful work that took exactly as long as the office predicted, were pleasant, were flexible about payment types, and provided a receipt and instructions for letting the work cure to prevent leaks. The cost precisely matched the estimate I was given when I phoned for an appointment. A good experience all around. We own a second home in Sunriver, OR. In December temperatures dipped into the minus 20?s and we had multiple pipes freeze and break. The resulting water damage was significant. Wood floors were ruined, drywall was damaged, kitchen cabinets were damaged, sub-floors and insulation were rendered useless. Lots of cleanup and repair was needed. We live a fair distance from Sunriver and so began a remote search for a solution to our problems. A friend recommended Peter Warnke at Stone by Stone Construction. Right from the beginning we were impressed with Peter; our initial conversations with him made it apparent that he was able to assess the situation accurately and clearly understood the scope of the project. He offered thoughtful suggestions, clever design ideas, and practical solutions to some of our trickiest issues. Peter executed his repairs with a meticulous thoughtfulness that is downright rare these days. His attention to detail was so thorough, so exact, it was almost as though he approached the project as if it were his very own. We felt completely comfortable entrusting our home to him when we could not be there. His communication throughout the project was spot-on. He listened carefully to our wants and needs and made sure he understood material choices and design requests, etc. The quality of his work is outstanding, plain and simple ? no shortcuts or patch jobs, down to even the smallest detail. And to top it all off Peter went above and beyond the call of duty in dealing with our insurance company. Because of our remote location, he offered to meet with the claims adjuster and communicate with the insurance company on our behalf. All in all, we couldn?t be happier with Peter and couldn?t recommend him highly enough. If you want a trustworthy, thoughtful contractor who consistently delivers quality work in a timely manner, Peter is your guy!

There is an associated quarry, and a trucking operation. While the price for the work was significantly more than we'd anticipated would be necessary, we were new to private road repair and maintenance and had to hope that the recommended work and charges were reasonable and advisable. With heavy trucks coming soon and the winter weather not yet over, we had to rely on the contractor's integrity and reputation in the community in hiring a contractor. Al seemed sincere and forthright in discussing progress and points at which it appeared to him that additional work might be worthwhile to us in the long run, and he was careful to check with us to get work okayed before proceeding. His crew was easy to work with, and we liked Al and the others. Al explained his professional suggestions but did not pressure us, and we approved work incrementally to the point that we paid four times what we had originally planned, repairing some deep holes, areas of poor drainage, and years of rough usage and neglect. It would have been better to reach a clearer understanding about our preference for a basic repair of the whole stretch of road rather than an excellent repair of first one section and then another. We thought we had managed this but in fact were in the position, like people buying house siding in the old days, of finding two sides completely finished and two only just started. Given our lack of expertise with roadwork, this was unfortunate but perhaps not surprising. We do not feel that the company was at fault in this. In the end, we do have a good solid repair of everything but the parking area in front of our house, are happy with the quality of the work, and feel confident that it will be long-lasting. We will also feel free to call Al for future work, and will be in a better position as consumers to negotiate what we truly need. At the time of this writing, Justice is charging $235 per 15-16-ton truckload (at least for a job like ours), compared with $840 for a single truckload of the same size charged by his nearest competitor, Ashe Construction, in Randle, WA. They were once the place to go for auto repair. We took our cars there for years for any repair we needed, and were always pleased. But around 2009-10 there was a change, with new repair men, and new people in the office. I had one of my mirror's knocked part off my car while at the grocery store. I went in, and they said that they didn't have the part, but would order it and call me when it was in. Over the next few months, I would call them every other week to find out that they couldn't find a mirror for my suburban. Like an idiot, I felt committed and stuck with them until they finally ordered and got in the part. They ordered two, so I'd have a matched set. I was fine with this. They also said they'd repair the holes left by the accident at the grocery store. Instead, it seems they went a different route. My guess is they didn't want my car sides to not match ... so they ripped the other mirror off the other side too, to leave matching holes in both sides of my car. The new mirrors were quite cheap too. But mostly, THEY PUT HOLES IN MY CAR DOOR. And charge me $350 to do it. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I use Eagle Auto Repair in Forks now. "Horrible. Hardin Rehab Homes professes to "not charge any mark-up on materials", they say what they pay is what you pay. However, they grossly over-order the materials and then refuse to return the refund - this created a 53% mark-up on materials for our job. Also, a major component of the project was left out without any discussion or ok by us - we were charged for the material and the labor and when it was omitted, another return of our money was refused. The contract stated they will use knowledgeable and capable workers, but they used 2 teenagers that knew nothing about what they were doing. Steve Hardin (owner) was only on site about half the time yet professed to be there and doing most of the work. No clean-up was done throughout project and the project was never completed by Hardin Rehab Homes, we brought in another contractor to finish. Hardin Rehab Homes refused 5 requests for a meeting to finalize things and talk about our "issues" with the project and the money. Technically job abandonment. We finally got Hardin Rehab Homes to attend mediation over the issues in which an agreement was made (and signed), however, they "decided" they didn't want to pay, and didn't ... CAN NOT recommend Hardin Rehab Homes for any kind of work !!! We've been trying to get our money back for over 6 months now. RESPONSE TO SERVICE PROVIDER'S RESPONSE: 12/18/2020: I am writing a 2nd review as my first received a response that is totally incorrect by the business. We filed with small claims court and went to mediation; where Hardin Rehab Homes AGREED they owed us for the portion of the job contracted and charged for but not done - materials and labor. An agreement was reached, a legal document was signed, but the business told the BBB they, "decided they didn't want to pay it". This is not good business practice. A 53% markup on materials is also NOT good business practice. In the job we contracted we experienced fraud, scamming, and dealt with a contract not adhered to by the company that provided it. I stand by my review on this site and can prove through Documentation that everything I have said is correct. I cannot recommend this company for any work of any kind."

FAQs for deck repair projects in College Place, WA
While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.
There are a few ways to make your deck look new without professional power washing. First, you can use either store-bought cleaners or dish soap and water to mop your deck regularly to clean off accumulated dirt. To clean your deck and remove mold, mix two gallons of warm water with a ½ cup of distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar, rinse the area, and then scrub with a stiff-bristled broom.
For an average deck of about 300 square feet, you can expect to pay around $100. However, if you have a spacious 1,000-square-foot deck or more, expect that cost to be closer to $300 to $400. Likewise, if it’s been a long time since you deep cleaned your deck, the deck professional might need extra time and to use deck-specific detergent, which will increase the overall cost.
You should have your deck professionally cleaned twice a year—once in the spring and once in the fall. A springtime cleaning wipes away grime and mold that accumulated during the wet winter months, making it sparkly clean for summer use. Likewise, cleaning your deck in the fall allows you to wash away grease and leftover mess from the fun summer months rather than letting them soak into your deck over the winter.
The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.
Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.
