"The job was to install a ceiling fan/light unit in each of two bedrooms that had only ceiling light fixtures, and to wire and replace an existing single switch ceiling fan with a dual control switch. Mark came out to do an evaluation and estimate, and I independently bought the new ceiling fan units. Daniel started the work and ran the wiring in the attic; Mark teamed up to assemble the fans and secure their placement. There were a couple of unforeseen glitches, but both men continued to problem solve and finished all three parts of the job by midday of the second day. They were friendly, polite, patient, and considerate about leaving the areas clean. Fans and switches are working fine. The final price for the job was higher than I had hoped for, but with the glitches, it was not quite as simple of an installation as I had previously experienced. And I"m very pleased with the final result."

"The team arrived as scheduled. Alex & Tyler worked well as a team. They installed ceiling fans which we had purchased ahead of time. They had to put in fan boxes for all 3. Also we had to replace 2 bathroom fans. They supplied one of those. Lastly we needed outlets on our porch. They were able to get all this done in about half a day. We were super impressed with the ease of setting up the assessment, scheduling the work and completion of the job. The prices fit our budget. We were not pressured into additional work. In the future we are planning more upgrades around our place and we will be calling Mr Electric again. Than you Alex & Tyler for doing such a great job."

"I hired Everlast to put up my new ceiling fan, and the entire process couldn’t have been easier. The owner himself, David, came out to ensure things went smoothly, and they did a fantastic job installing it. Shortly after, I hired them again to replace my mother’s light fixtures. I highly recommend Everlast to anyone in need of quality, simple, and convenient installation services!"

"The furnace took 4 days to get approved( not counting a Sunday) the others were quick but the water heater had to be ordered so without hot water for a week. One ceiling fan was easy but within a year their policy changed and They would not install the one I purchased and had to get a new one approved and then ordered online and took several weeks to get straightened out. Not sure who was at fault, AHS, installer or scheduling with renter. Fee is usually $75 per visit"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

Fans not turning on, wobbling, noisy motors, or faulty remote controls are common issues requiring repair.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.
