"From the first meeting, Justin Johnson was professional and knowledgeable about the tree. He asked me what I wanted and didn't want. The day of the tree removal; they were actually early. They removed the tree efficiently and rather more quickly than I thought it would be. They also cleaned up and there were a lot of pine needles!! I have already asked about them returning in the new year to trim my remaining trees. I would certainly use them again."

"They arrived on time, got to work immediately , cleaned up there area, actually finished ahead of schedule. Hard working team, pleasant thoughtful workers . We had them cut down a old cherry tree that was too close to the house. They cut it down, sawed the truck into fireplace size pieces, chipped the rest , spread the chips under orchard trees and cleaned up the yard. Very easy to work with. I would hire them again."

"Our trees were huge. The Hatch Man tree service, did the job, and beyond. They were extremely consciousness of the work that needed to be done. They are professional, highly skilled, and polite. It was a four man crew that came to do our tree removal. I was very pleased and look forward to working with them again. Let me use just a few adjectives to express my delight in their work. WONDERFUL, ELATED, STOKED, THRILLED, AWESOME. If you are looking for a tree service who can also remove the driveway, as they did for us. Use these guys the Hatch Man tree Service. Thanks to the entire crew for doing a great job, as I know our house will sell quicker now. Sincerely Sarah"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.

In most ways, palm trees are incredibly low-maintenance. They don’t need a ton of water—which is why they’re so beloved in desert regions—and they basically prune themselves. But they do need an ample supply of sunlight and to be in soil that will allow for proper drainage so that their roots don’t become waterlogged and at risk of developing illnesses.

If the plant begins to wilt, develop spots, or change color, these could all be signs that your palm tree has a disease. But a few basic treatments, like pruning and applying fungicide, will usually be more than enough to return it to perfect health.

Grinding down a tree helps reduce the risk of foundation damage and pests and even helps your home’s curb appeal. Stumps can also be a safety hazard. If grass grows above the stump and someone else mows your yard, they may be in for a rude awakening when they accidentally hit it.

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. If you’re unsure which method to use or how quickly you need to act, consulting with a pro is always a good idea.

It is good to spray water on a Christmas tree to help keep the needles hydrated. Spraying a Christmas tree with water prevents dryness, stops needles from falling off, and reduces the risk of fire.
