"Doug and his team were friendly and professional. I had Nu-Trend clean the carpets in two of our offices, and they did a great job. We are very pleased with the work they did and would recommend to any business who needs to get their carpets cleaned."

"Our dog Barry is a big golden retriever and when he was a puppy we had a real good time trying to get him potty trainer. We had Nick clean our carpets once and he did a great job so we have just called him again and he cleaned our house again this year. Easy going guy with great results. Our carpets have been cleaned throughout our house twice by Nick and we believe heâ s done quality work both times. True North does a great job. We are glad to have found a local company that does a good job!"

"It was wonderful. Technician arrived in time; reviewed situation and made recommendations. Began working shortly thereafter. Michael was informative along the way. Truth told I was pleasantly shocked. Carpet looked new. Certainly on my list for future cleanings. Triple AAA+ rating. Thank you Michael."

"DASH cleaning is always punctual, thorough and so friendly during their weekly visit. We have a great working relationship and they are always open to feedback, alternatives for better products and communicate clearly their needs so we both get the best out of our mutual experiences. We picked DASH because of their use of green products and small business, high quality mentality and practices. I would highly recommend DASH, thanks!"

"Let me start off with how amazing these guys are! They have worked with me every step of the way with payments and are very patient with my lack of being able to pay because of certain circumstances that happened. I make payments when I can and they are very flexible with everything! And my house was so clean when we came back i was pleasantly surprised! Thank you again for your hard work!"

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The formula for neutralizing skunk smell is one quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide, ¼ cup baking soda, and one to two teaspoons of dish soap. The University of Nebraska says a chemist discovered that this mixture changes the thiols, the chemical compound that causes the odor, into acids that don’t carry a skunk smell, thus eliminating the odor.

It might be possible to wash your couch upholstery, but we don’t recommend it. Couches labeled with a “W” or “W/S” on the tag might be okay to wash gently with a couch cleaner or a homemade couch cleaning solution, but you have to be very careful not to get the padding underneath wet, as it will deteriorate and potentially ruin your couch. You should hire a professional upholstery cleaner to guarantee a safe, deep clean for your favorite furniture items.

The best cleaner to remove soot depends on the surface material and the type of fire, but consider dish soaps or degreasers, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, and hydrogen. Low-oxygen fires often leave behind greasy soot, which is best removed with dish soaps or degreasers. Baking soda can be useful for absorbing soot deposits from carpets, followed by rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to clean the set-in stains.

Yes, carpets should be replaced after a house fire or significant smoke damage, even if they appear undamaged. Smoke, soot, particulates, and chemicals can penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and padding, making complete removal a complicated and time-consuming process. If water was used to extinguish the fire, it can also soak through the carpet and padding, creating a risk of mold and mildew growth. Due to these challenges and potential health risks, replacing the carpet is the safest and most effective solution.

If the chemical compounds that make up pet pee haven’t been properly neutralized, the smell of urine can be reactivated with water and linger even after cleaning. You may also notice a remaining pee smell in carpets if the urine has soaked down to the carpet padding, which is more difficult to access and clean than the carpet itself.
