"Kevin came out quickly to give me a quote to replace my old bathtub and wall panels. He listened to what I was needing and wanting out of the project and he quoted me competitively with the other quotes I had received. I chose his quote because he was personable, flexible and the reviews of his previous jobs were excellent. I could tell he was trustworthy and very professional and he was able to start the project within 2 weeks. On the day of the project Saul and Luiz came on time and completed the entire remodel in one day. Amazing guys that do top notch, quality work. I am very pleased with how my new tub and shower look and I would definitely recommend them to anyone need a bathroom remodel."

"Working with Eric Vanderlip Construction was a great experience. I am truly thankful that we called for their services. He was not only professional at what he does, but also reliable and dependable. We had our Garage converted to a family space and added a bathroom, we also updated our main bath shower. He offered us a very reasonable quote, the end result, exceeded our expectations. We are looking forward to our next project."

"Working with Solid Kitchen and Bath was phenomenal! We had spoken with at least a dozen other contractors, but Pavel and his team were the only ones that gave us true confidence. They understood what they were getting into and that they could make it happen. We wanted to remodel our bathroom to have a sunken, Roman style tub and shower. We had contractors come in, look around the room and throw out a quote and ask us to sign right then and there. Pavel inspected the space, the crawl space and spoke with his team and then got back to us to inform us it was going to be possible to make our dreams come true. This communication was consistent throughout the entire process and is one of the many factors that helped us maintain such a great relationship with Solid Kitchen and Bath. Budget was another factor and he respected our time and money and kept us within our max, something that others contractors either doubled in the quote or severely underestimated. Whenever there were unexpected hiccups, the team handled it in a professional manner, giving us options as to how we wanted it handled and executing the plan as we discussed. The finished product was even better than what we had initially thought up and we LOVE our bathroom! Thank you to everyone involved in this project and rest assured we are loving our life!"

"Overall the project went very well. We interviewed 5 different contractors and picked Vic because we liked his price, we liked the fact that he was going to do most of the work himself, and we felt that we could work with him. The project was supposed to be done in about a month, and ended up taking close to 2 months. Part of the delay was materials and the plumber, and a few days were lost because of surgery and a previously scheduled vacation, but ultimately we did get the bathroom and tub room we had hoped for. Although we were originally considering luxury vinyl, Vic did steer us toward tile. He did an excellent job of installing the tile on the floor and around the new tub, and it all looks beautiful. He also did several small things at the end of the project (such as replacing towel bars in another bathroom, installing a curtain rods and a shade, and replacing an electrical outlet) at no cost."

Tub Shower Conversion questions, answered by experts

While Medicare will pay for some bathroom modifications, it won’t pay for all modifications done to help make the room more accessible for older adults. Plus, the improvements must be approved in advance, or they won’t cover the upgrade. Check well in advance of construction if you have coverage for grab bars, walk-in tubs, wider doorways, higher toilets, and more.

Shower mixing valves are usually located behind the shower handles. Accessing the mixing valve is difficult for a DIYer, so it’s best to call a pro if you think this could be the issue. A plumbing repair expert has the right tools and knowledge to easily access the valve, diagnose the issue, and recommend repairs if needed.

Yes, most bathrooms can be converted into a wet room, but the process often involves extensive renovations. Key requirements include having proper plumbing and the ability to slope the floor slightly for drainage. The conversion process typically requires removing the existing floors to install drainage, replacing drywall with waterproofed cement backer board, waterproofing the walls, and installing new fixtures to create an open, curbless shower space. A skilled home renovation professional can evaluate your bathroom to determine if it's a suitable candidate. It's also worth considering resale value; if you only have one bathroom, converting it to a wet room might not be ideal as many homebuyers prefer to have at least one bathtub.

Shower arms come in a standard size with ½-inch NPT, but designs vary. The height of the water supply pipe and the showerhead height you want affect the type of shower arm you should choose. For example, a water outlet that’s located close to the ceiling would be suitable for a standard shower arm (small extension with a slight downward angle) or a straight arm model. Outlets situated lower in the shower allow for gooseneck shower arms, which can raise the showerhead's height.

A walk-in shower without a door is referred to as a barrier-free shower or doorless walk-in shower. This feature makes the shower more accessible for people with disabilities, but it can also be attractive for minimalist designs because of the clean lines. A doorless walk-in shower also means one less surface to clean, but they can have downsides like splashing water and a lack of privacy, so do your research first.
