"We have used Beko’s Tree for several years now, for both planned and emergency projects, and are grateful for their service! Beko is smart and professional, he prices his work fairly, and he is quick to help when trees have blocked our driveway. He provides sage advice on how to best approach dead and leaning trees, and how to best approach big trees on our high bank property. We highly recommend Beko’s!"

"I had a great experience working with Greg for some stump grinding and highly recommend his company. His communication was excellent right from the start, and he was incredibly flexible when I asked to add another piece to the job at the last minute. What really impressed me was the care he took with safety and property protection. He put up solid barriers around the workspace so flying debris wouldn't be an issue. His pricing is very fair, and his cleanup was top-notch—he restored the area to its pre-job condition and honestly left it looking even better than before he started. Total professional, and I'd absolutely hire him again."

"We recently worked with Aaron and his team at North Coast Contractors for an installation of a large concrete patio, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. They were referred to us when we realized our DIY attempt was beyond our capabilities, and it turned out to be a great recommendation. From the start, Aaron was responsive and scheduled a quote visit promptly within the same week. During the visit, Aaron and his wife provided valuable creative insights for our project and even offered advice on other unrelated projects, along with referrals to other professionals in their network. Their extensive knowledge and genuine passion were evident throughout. Aaron proved to be personable, reliable, and knowledgeable. He paid meticulous attention to detail and showed great care for our property. He recommended us to visit other completed projects in town, which further instilled confidence in their abilities. They were able to complete our project much faster than we originally anticipated and they offered fair pricing, providing a clear breakdown of costs upfront. The end result exceeds our expectations and was EXACTLY what they discussed during our quote/consultation process. The concrete poured and stamped patio has completely transformed our backyard and looks stunning!!"

"Very good guy, knows what he is doing, he took on the challenge of a 100 year old Black Walnut tree over 4 feet across, everything went well, good, and on time, he put it down right where he said he would with no damage to anything... I am extremely satisfied with his work and mannerism, very professional man... I will recommend him to anyone..."

"everything went very well. The trees that we had cut were close to the water pump and our home. He cut the trees and told us where they would land and they landed just where he said. The job was done in less that 2 hours if that. A very good experience and we would hire him again. We would and have recommended him."

"I had tried a different stump grinding company that were unable afterTHREE attempts to completely grind an old plum tree. My goal was to plant another tree in its place. Sparkuhl Stump Grinding did the job! Completely! He was able to grind closer to my fence. Sparkuhl was more professional from the start. I highly recommend Sparkuhl Stump Grinding over any other company."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

It depends on where you live—but in most areas, leaves begin falling in September and continue falling until January or February. Warmer regions, such as Southern states, may see leaves fall a bit later in the calendar year. It also depends on the type of trees in your yard and their maturity.

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size.

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.

If the roots are still alive, the dead tree will usually try to put out new shoots. That doesn’t mean the tree will survive or that the dead parts of a tree will come back to life. If parts of the tree have died and turned gray or rotten, nothing will bring them back to life and they need to be safely removed.

For safety reasons, leaning trees are best removed by a professional, as they may often tear away from the hinge, causing you to lose control over where the tree falls. If you choose to cut down a tree leaning slightly, avoid cutting off root protrusions before you start. Make your hinge a little longer than usual by cutting it deeper (up to 30% of the diameter) and applying a wedge into the felling cut on the side the tree is leaning. Stand away from the direction the tree leans while making your felling cut.

The shepherd’s tree, native to the Kalahari Desert in Africa, holds the record for the deepest known tree roots at over 230 feet deep. Some African communities refer to it as the “Tree of Life” since it provides food, shade, and medicinal properties to the surrounding community.
