Mac was great to work with...no problems communicating with him. We wanted to make sure our project was done with minimal impact to our yard and Mac did a great job in that regard. He also cleaned up after the work was done. I would recommend Sullivan Stone (Mac is the owner) without hesitation! The best way to determine if ceiling cracks are structural is to hire a ceiling contractor to inspect the cracks and provide a professional opinion. Larger cracks, cracks accompanied by sagging or discoloration, and cracks that travel from the ceiling down the walls are all signs of structural issues.

Concrete resurfacing is the process of applying a new, thin layer of concrete over an existing concrete slab to give it a fresh appearance. The new layer is often between 1/4-inch and 1-inch thick, so it involves much less material than you’d need to pour a new slab, which is often 4 inches thick. Resurfacing also gives you the opportunity to add color or texture to your slab without totally replacing it.

For cracks in asphalt driveways, you can use crack filler or cold-patch asphalt mix, while concrete driveways can be repaired with a concrete patch or resurfacer. To fix the driveway cracks, apply the filler directly into the crack using a caulker and then level it with a putty knife.

If your cement garage floor is sinking and cracking, your first step should be to call a local structural engineer to assess the problem. They can determine if it’s a minor amount of sinking related to normal settlement or if the issue is structural in nature. If you do have structural damage, the engineer or a foundation repair company that you hire will come up with a plan to fix the issue, which often consists of mudjacking for less severe issues or underpinning for more extensive problems.

Stamped concrete overlays last about 25 years when properly installed and cared for. Installing an overlay on top of structurally sound concrete helps ensure it reaches its full lifespan. A local stamped concrete pro should finish and seal the concrete upon installation, and you should reseal the overlay every three to five years. Stamped concrete overlays are durable, long-lasting, and a beautiful way to refresh a space.
