"He came out with his wife and did the measuring and showed me pictures. He would be able to start my job 2nd or 3rd week in September 2020. Said he would get to me in 2 days with a quote. A week went by and nothing, I reached out to him on Facebook and he replied he was busy and would get back to me on the weekend. Again nothing. I tried emailing, calling and Facebook again and all with no return calls or response. Very sad because I wanted to work with someone local and he seemed to do good work. All he needed to do is send back a response with something and not ghost me."

Carlisle Wide Plank Floors is the iconic wide plank flooring company. We bring iconic interiors to life by creating the widest, longest center-cut planks available in the world for residential and commercial interiors, using a variety of wood floor styles and finishes.

"It went well until I included their product in another project where I was not closely connected to the contractor. After a 6-month design process in pulling all FFE together around the Carlisle floor with quotes and specified products, the contractor and client went directly to my sales rep and purchased directly from them. I have been a designer for 30 years and enjoy building trusted relationships with manufacturers to secure the best prices for my clients. When a manufacturer then sells directly to the client or contractor for the same price, the relationship is undermined and broken. I will never use Carlisle again. Buyer beware as you will be undercut. There is no loyalty in this company."

Hardwood Flooring questions, answered by experts

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

Yes, carpet tiles are easy to install—even if you don’t have much DIY experience. In fact, the simple installation process is one of the main reasons that people choose carpet tiles over traditional carpet. Since carpet tiles come in individual squares, they aren’t as heavy or awkward to install as regular carpet. Plus, you don’t need specialized equipment (like knee kickers or carpet stretchers) when installing carpet tiles.

Sheet vinyl is the cheapest DIY flooring, depending on the brand, style, and quality you choose. Not only is it one of the most affordable flooring products on the market, but it is also easy for most homeowners to install, as it only requires cutting, trimming, and gluing down to the existing floor surface. Some sheet vinyl manufacturers make a loose-lay sheet vinyl flooring that does not even need to be glued.

Carpet squares, tile stickers, painting or stenciling existing tile floors, and painting existing concrete flooring are also affordable options for DIY flooring.

With proper care and maintenance, hardwood floors can last for decades or even centuries. Solid hardwood and tropical wood, in particular, have the potential to be sanded and refinished multiple times, extending their lifespan. However, the longevity of hardwood floors also depends on factors such as the wood species, quality of installation, and the level of foot traffic in that area of your home.

Yes. When installed properly, the strong adhesive on carpet tiles keeps them in place while also allowing homeowners the flexibility to peel up an individual tile and replace it if they need to. It’s important to keep in mind that the adhesive on your carpet tiles may take some time to cure, so it’s best to leave them alone for a couple of days after you first install them.
